A night after the adult housemates and the Star Dreamers joined forces to help in making Mitch Talao and her partner Dudz Ibañez’s dream wedding come true and had fun during the reception, the two houses were shrouded with sadness as each had to say goodbye to their comrades during the first eviction night of Pinoy Big Brother Otso held last February 3.
Camp Star Hunt: Star Dreamers, nalungkot sa sitwasyon nina Marie at Thea
Unlike in the previous batch wherein only the housemates are in danger of getting evicted, the creators put a new twist in this edition as the Star Dreamers are also up expulsion.
After being part of the losing teams in their last three jobs, Star Dreamers Thea Rizaldo and Marie Songalia garnered the lowest accumulated scores that jeopardized their chances on extending their stay in the camp as it was announced that one of them would be dismissed.
Their fate was determined not by the customary text votes, but of the votes cast by their fellow Star Dreamers. Thea got four, while Marie got only two, making her the first-ever Star Dreamer to be dismissed from the camp.
Camp Star Hunt: Marie, Thank you and Good luck, Marie!
Although her journey in the reality competition has ended, the hosts admired her fighting spirit and sunny disposition she exuded.
“Kung meron man po akong natutunan sa pagiging Star Dreamer, ‘yon po ay ang lumaban ng lumaban ng lumaban at maghintay po ng tamang panahon para sa atin. Maybe this is not the right time for me, but laban pa rin! May mga bituin pa tayong kailangan nating abutin so laban!” she ardently stated.
Camp Star Hunt: Meet Kim & Kin - Bro with the Flow & Go ng Davao
It might be the end for the 23-year-old “Longing Anak ng Leyte”, but her departure bestowed hope to not only one, but two aspirants – identical twins Kim and Kin Franco – as the hosts introduced them as the newest members of the Camp Star Hunt.
PBB Otso Day 27: Tori, pasok na bilang official housemate ni Kuya
However, it was not only Marie to whom the Star Dreamers had to bid their farewell, but to the “Bombshell Sweetie of Singapore” Tori Garcia as well after she was chosen by Kuya to crossover to the PBB house, replacing the first-ever evictee.
PBB Otso Day 27: Abi evicted from Kuya's house
Meanwhile, after spending two weeks inside the house and impressing us with how she handled her duties as the personal wedding coordinator to Mitch’s nuptials, it seemed that Abi Kassem’s efforts weren’t enough to convince the voting public to help her continue her journey in the competition.
She received the lowest percentage of votes of 22.59% and was defeated by Wakim Regalado’s 38.75% and 2-in-1 housemates Apey and Mark Obera’s 38.65%.
The “Kolehiyala Cutie” wasn’t able to hold back her emotions as he stepped back to the outside world and was welcomed by her cousin Joana. This might be the end of her journey in the reality show, she promised to keep on fighting even outside the house.
Maraming-maraming salamat.
For the most shocking revelation of the evening – Kuya told siblings Apey and Mark that there’s a chance that their 2-in-1 status will be lifted and they are going to two individual housemates. The decision, as announced by host Toni Gonzaga, would be determined through the combined public text votes and votes of the housemates.
To make the announcement of the deliberation more exciting, Kuya placed two lamp posts in the garden area, in which one is already lit up as a sign of their current status, while the other one will be only turned on once the majority agreed to their separation.
This was done according to the advice of PBB’s resident psychologist Randy Dellosa regarding Apey’s behavior towards her estranged brother Mark.
Is this going to be the end for Apey and Mark’s consanguineous tandem? Let’s find out in the upcoming episodes of Pinoy Big Brother Otso.
