World-class Pinoy from Pilipinas Got Talent to Asia's Got Talent

Pilipinas Got Talent has showcased some of the best Filipino performers since its inception in 2010. It is based on the Got Talent franchise, a British TV format conceived and owned by Simon Cowell's SYCO. All the way in Singapore, on the other hand, a regional version of the franchise featured singers, dancers, magicians, and comedians from all over Asia—including the Philippines. With our world-class talents, it is not surprising that some PGT performers have also made their way to the AGT stage and conquered it.

Here are some of them:

1) El Gamma Penumbra: PGT Finalist, AGT Grand Winner

Filipino shadow play theater group El Gamma Penumbra came from a very humble beginning before becoming a global phenomenon. The group of dancers never failed to amaze not only the Philippines but the entire Asia with their artistic take on different social issues. It could be remembered that the group made an appearance in the "Pilipinas Got Talent" in 2011 where they first wowed the entire Filipino nation. El Gamma Penumbra advanced to the final round of the competition where they performed Choose Philippines' theme song "Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas." They were in fourth place, following the trail of Bringas Brothers, Khalil Joseph Ramos and grand winner Maasinhon Trio.

In February 2015, the group joined "Asia's Got Talent" and became an early favorite of Indonesian superstar Anggun. They eventually emerged as the champion of the talent search, besting other candidates from 14 different countries. The team won US$100,000 and an opportunity to perform at the Marina Bay Sands.
