Lucky 7 Big Winners Who Made Their Mark, Part 2
Melai Cantiveros

Her perkiness and spirited demeanor would easily catch your fancy, and Melai Cantiveros’s boisterous laughter would further seal the deal as that perfect antidote to your otherwise gloomy day. She really made everyone roll in the aisles with her in-house antics, unrepressed stance in dealing with daily tasks, and of course falling in love with a housemate, Jason Francisco. Indeed viewers of PBB: Double Up in 2009 were riveted and entertained by just seeing her on-screen, which was enough for the General Santos City-native to get enough votes to become Big Winner. Since that victory, Melai flew even higher with stints as a noontime show host, reality show presenter, and teleserye actress, currently melting hearts with her role in We Will Survive. But what’s remarkable about Melai is that she always takes her career to the next level with talk show host duties in the morning program Magandang Buhay. This leads us to ask, where will Melai fly next?

James Reid

Some don’t even remember him as a housemate, but during his stint as one of the first Teenternational housemates from Australia that even entered Bahay Ni Kuya belatedly on Day 22, he was considered as among the most resolute and determined having faced terrible odds during his stay. A lung ailment almost led him to a forced eviction twice, but that hurdle failed to stop his valiant drive to succeed. Viewers certainly appreciated this and adjudged him as the Big Winner of PBB Teen Clash 2010, which became a portent of dazzling opportunities to come. His biggest break came four years later as a film adaptation to the online novel Diary Ng Panget was being casted, and he was chosen for the lead male role opposite Nadine Lustre. And the rest was history. With Nadine, James has since become the “Pambansang Hubby” in reference to their portrayals in the sensational teleserye On The Wings of Love, which really catapulted his stardom further. Now James is one of the country’s foremost young leading men and part of the spectacular love team with Nadine—JaDine.

Slater Young

Slater was already the “Hotshot Engineer of Cebu” before we got to witness his journey and triumph as PBB Unlimited’s Big Winner in 2012. But little did we know that he really carried that monicker to heart and owned it, becoming a full-fledged entrepreneur in the field of real estate and construction. He has since started a thriving, one-of-its-kind business called Lifeblock, which provides environment-friendly innovations in constructing houses, and is currently its Chief Executive Officer.
