Over the years, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) has become more than a place for fun activities and daring challenges that bring us joy and laughter. We now recognize it as a place that also makes us feel the butterflies of a first love because we get to see some of the housemates fall in love right in front of our eyes.
Can you recall the most memorable love teams that began in Kuya’s house? This Kapamilya Snaps video is listing them out and bringing some serious kilig as we recall how these love teams started in PBB.
KimErald (Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson)
This is definitely one of the first and biggest PBB love tandems. Who could forget how Gerald proved to the other housemates that he would be the best match for Kim? Soon after, we were able to witness their sweet date where they ate sorbetes and cotton candy together.
When they exited PBB, the two worked on shows and movies with each other for some time but later went to have independent projects. Although they are not a love team anymore, many of their fans would still be glad to see them on the big screen together like Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin (2017).
MelaSon (Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco)
Many fans always wish that their treasured PBB love teams would become or remain real-life couples outside Kuya’s house and be together forever, but only a few do. This is what makes MelaSon’s love story a rare and beautiful one.
Starting out as close friends when they met inside Kuya’s house, their bond eventually grew into a romantic relationship. Jason even decided to take it to the next level as he proposed to Melai while they were still housemates and shared a doll named “Dengue” which they took care of like their own child. The two stayed strong and eventually got married years after the show. Now, they have been happy together for seven years and have two wonderful daughters.
LoiShua (Loisa Andalio and Joshua Garcia)
These days Loisa and Joshua may have their own love teams, but before that, we were charmed by their closeness on PBB. Viewers saw how their friendship was something more, especially during that time when Joshua spilled tons of pick-up lines to Loisa.
Even if the tandem are no longer together and working on different projects, their fans were glad to witness them paired together in Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita (2015)
McLlisse (McCoy De Leon and Elisse Joson)
When McCoy first laid eyes on newcomer Elisse in PBB Lucky Season 7, it was clear to everyone that something special would brew between the two. Since then, many looked forward to different McLisse moments on the show which shortly led to them become a real-life couple. After PBB, the love team starred in the movie “Sakaling Maging Tayo” (2019).
Although the two broke up in 2018, McLisse fans are brimming with excitement as there are rumors that they may have gotten back together after McCoy posted a photo of him kissing Elisse’s forehead in a very romantic-looking boat ride last August 2020.
BaiLona (Bailey May and Ylona Garcia)
Bailey and Ylona’s chemistry began when they both started sharing with each other their love and passion for music. We particularly felt giddy when Bailey would randomly sing to Ylona, but our favorite was undeniably their “Magmahal Muli” performance during their third eviction night.
BaiLona’s strong friendship survived many challenges and together they were able to reach the Big Four during their season in PBB with Bailey placing fourth and Ylona placing second.
ToMiho (Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida)
Even if Tommy and Miho spoke different languages, love came easy to them. From solving challenges and working through their language barrier, they considered each other their partner in everything.
They two dated for two years after PBB. Though it saddened many that they broke up, we will still have the kilig moments ToMiho shared in PBB All-In in our memories.
LouDre (Lou Yanong and Andre Brouillette)
Lou and André both came to the PBB house with the goal to be Big Winner. However, with the two so much alike in spirit, they found themselves in something more than just a competition because a real relationship was starting to develop between them.
As they still remained focused on the prize, they did not let their dear feelings for each other falter. We’re sure you still have a hard time suppressing a smile when you remember the time Lou and André confessed their feelings to each other in their secluded and special PBB date.
KiaNo (Kiara Takahashi and Gino Roque)
This PBB Otso pairing had us at the edges of our seats when their love team was beginning to develop. It was frustrating to watch Gino and his torpe moments, but when he finally mustered up the courage to confess his feelings to Kiara, it was one of the most heartwarming scenes. Their precious wine and sushi date by the pool is still something we are jealous of.
KarJon (Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza)
Karina and Aljon are another PBB Otso tandem, but they may be a complete opposite of KiaNo because Karina and Aljon never hid their affection for each other. Other than being really comfortable being around the other person, they were also very open with sharing how they felt. Like most love stories, they had their ups and downs, but it’s no surprise that they are still together and working as a tandem in different stints.
MayWard (Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber)
Maymay and Edward are a cute couple that many will not be able to forget. Despite the fact that Edward initially liked a different housemate when PBB Lucky Season 7 started, it all became a blur when it was apparent that Maymay and Edward’s friendship was something more special.
Their adorable connection sparked and grew in the PBB house, but it surely did not end there. When PBB ended, the two remained very close and are currently working on amazing projects as a love team and as individuals.
The love teams that began in Kuya’s house may not always be on the road to forever, but they will always hold a special place in our hearts because we were a part of their journey as we watched them meet and form special bonds on-cam. Was your favorite PBB love team part of the list?
