Now that we’ve got to know the new set of admirable male teen Star Dreamers who will arguably bring in kilig vibes to the second Teen Edition of Pinoy Big Brother Otso, let’s see how their journey in the competition began as they zoomed to their first-ever Big Island Adventure in Hundred Islands, Alaminos, Pangasinan.
While the eight guys were having a good time introducing themselves to everyone and exchanging banters, host Kim Chiu approached them to relay the important tasks they have to accomplish in order to obtain the Big Key that will open the PBB house, just like what their female counterparts did.
On their first challenge dubbed “Zip to the 8th Power”, they have to memorize then add the eight three-digit numbers laid on the sea to get the sum that would correspond to the combinations of the padlock of the treasure chest located in the neighboring island containing the first of the three map pieces. In order to do this, they have to cross the sea via the long zip line connecting the two islands.
After their brief brainstorming regarding the strategy they would use in order to succeed, the Boy Star Dreamers kicked off their zip line challenge with Alfred Beruzil as the frontrunner. He was succeeded by the go-getter Tan Roncal and the scaredy-cat Jem Macatuno.
Unlike Jem who consumed a few minutes before completely letting himself slide through the zip line, Batit Espiritu, Emjay Savilla, and Mich Wunder immediately embarked on the thrilling short adventure.
Next up was Lance Carr, who also courageously took on the challenge and memorized not only the number designated to him, but to Shoichi Oka as well just in case he missed his. Even before the latter reach their location, the first seven Star Dreamers already opened the chest after getting the passcode and decided to pull a prank on him. Upon his arrival, the “Responsableng Rising Son of Japan” was welcomed by the confused looks of his comrades who asked him if he ever saw their numbers then to solve the equation. They erupted to joyous cheers when the lock popped open.
After completing the first challenge, Kim once again joined the eight boys to take them to the beach camp where they are going to temporarily stay and bestow their second task, too. When they were about a few meters away to their destination, she told him to alight from the boat and swim towards the dry bags containing the stuff they would need in the next days.
As soon as they reached the beach camp with their dry bags, the eight boys immediately read the message contained in the bottle hanging in one of the posts. The note told them to divide their group into two, with one team assigned in fixing the camp (Batit, Jem, Emjay, and Lance) while the other one would catch fish for their viand (Tan, Mich, Alfred, Shoichi). Aside from fixing their dwelling place and tents, the first team also made themselves in-charge of cooking their food as they awaited for the arrival of the second team.
At night, the Boy Star Dreamers feasted on the sumptuous dinner they all diligently prepared and discovered more about the personalities of each other through their light conversations and simple observations.
What’s next for these eight dudes? Are they going to succeed as well in their next challenges? All these and more on the next episode of PBB Otso!
