It is said that people who often deliver happiness and mirth to everyone around them are ironically the same people who have gone through a lot of painful and miserable experiences in life. And this is definitely the case for the resident clowns of Pinoy Big Brother Otso -- Fumiya Sankai and Yamyam Gucong
The laughter and smiles they’ve been bringing us since the beginning of the adult edition were suddenly replaced with heartache and tears as they got totally emotional after losing in the nerve-wracking Big Jump to the Big 4 Challenge.
Being the pair to pick the number 2 ball in the draw lots, Fumiya and Yamyam began preparing for their turn, the night after housemates Lou Yanong and Andre Brouillette won against House Challengers Mark McMahon and Kin Franco on the first phase of the Big Jump Challenge. Thus, aside from telling one another to not panic and do well, they also asked for some advice from their close friends.
Upon reaching the activity area, it was revealed that their opponents would be their ex-comrades Tori Garcia and JC Gamez. The task was the same, in which they need to topple down the picture puzzle pieces by hitting those with balls and accurately assembling the opposite base behind the PBB logo.
As the competition continued, the Yellow Team (or the housemates) was the first one to knock down their blocks, but the Red Team (or the house challengers) was able to keep up and led in the building of the puzzle. Although they’re leading the contest, Red Team was the first one to use their “Freeze Power” but failed to destroy their rival’s work. Yellow Team retaliated and succeeded in toppling down the blocks of their opponents. Despite having to start anew in some portions and failing to fit some of the pieces appropriately, JC and Tori’s tandem still dominated in the end.
The outcome of their performance in the challenge deeply frustrated best friends Fumiya and Yamyam since only one of them will have the chance to move on to the next level while the other one will be automatically nominated. In spite of the pain they felt, they were still able to console one another and share a few laughs.
But everything got more serious and sentimental between them as they talked about the tough decision they have to make that would possibly put their ambitions and friendship at stake. This tear-jerking moment definitely tugged our heartstrings as they expressed how they feel, especially when the Konichi-Wonder Vlogger of Japan said that he’s very much willing to give way to his beloved Pogi Spiritual Brother.
As they observed the heart-rending scene of their fellows, the housemates couldn’t help but be alarmed and worried, thus Lou and Andre immediately went up to them and told them to go to the boys’ bedroom and take a rest.
Afterwards, the housemates converged in the living room as the Iskulit Bai of Bohol and his best buddy were about to announce the decision they had made. Fumiya was the one to stand up infront of them and picked out the white flag, indicating that they already agreed to get him automatically nominated for this week.
His reason truly made everyone tear up as he said, “I came here in the house for my dream pero I met Yamyam. He’s like my real brother. I was thinking I made a new dream. I want to help Yamyam. I’ve never experienced [feeling like this]. He’s really an important person for me. That’s why I decide to become nominated.”
As soon as his short yet heartfelt speech was finished, Yamyam approached him and gave him a tight and warm embrace.
The grueling night still ended in a positive note as the comedic Boholano vowed to fight not only for himself, but for his Japanese buddy as well. Their friends Lou and Andre also motivated them by saying that this is not yet the end of everything yet since it’s only a nomination, not an eviction.
How will the next pair of housemates fare in the next challenge? Are they going to defeat the house challengers or go home dejected as well? Let’s find out in the next episodes of PBB Otso!
