Kuya officially opened the doors of his house once again last weekend to welcome the newest batch of teen housemates.
From the thousands of aspirants during the nationwide Star Hunt auditions, only 16 Star Dreamers were presented as the initial set of teenagers to join Pinoy Big Brother: Otso, from which four girls and four boys picked to become the first eight housemates to enter the house. And here they are:
Josh Worsely - Little Prince ng Davao
Tagged as the “Little Prince of Davao”, this adorable Filipino-British cutie apparently caught the attention of the audiences when he won a spot after reaping 35% of the total public votes, only five percent higher than his closest competitor. Being the youngest housemate at 13 years old, he was able to persuade the majority of the voters by saying that he will do his best while inside the house and he looks forward to meeting new friends.
Art Guma - Baeral Gwapito ng Davao
If you were one of the millions of netizens who saw the viral video of a teenage boy smoothly uttering “Hi, Miss!” on the camera and later on squealed and freaked out telling his friends in jest that he couldn’t do it, then this 17-year-old social media sensation is probably familiar to you.
Unlike his housemates, the “Bae-ral Gwapito ng Davao” got his ticket to the competition by earning the nods of the council comprised by the past PBB Big Winners. According to first-ever Big Winner Nene Tamayo, majority of the panel voted for him because of his natural charm, bright personality, and positive outlook in life.
Aljon Mendoza - Shy Charmer ng Davao
After defeating his fellow Star Dreamers in the second 88-second challenge, in which they needed to transfer balls of their assigned color from a ball pit to their respective glass cases, the 17-year-old “Shy Charmer ng Pampanga” proved that he only doesn’t have the looks, but also the gumptiousness he needs to make the cut. Aside from helping his family, he also joined PBB in order to overcome his social anxiety.
Seth Fedelin - Hope-pool Son ng Cavite
Declared as the first-ever official teen housemate of this season, the 16-year-old heartthrob snagged a place after dominating the initial 88-second challenge bestowed to them. Being the eldest of four children, the Hope-pool son of Cavite yearns to help his family by joining the reality show.
Kaori Oinuma - Kawaii Daughter ng Japan
The only official housemate who came from abroad, living inside the house and getting along with strangers, who are now her housemates, would probably be easy to the 18-year-old Filipina-Japanese beauty for she was able to cope as an emigrant in Japan for around five years.
The “Kawaii Daughter of Japan” landed a spot after winning the 88-second challenge, wherein she was able to transfer the highest number of colored balls with the use of a pole with a metal pan on it while hurriedly striding through a tire maze.
Lie Reposposa - Teenig ng tawanan ng Davao
Those who follow It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan would surely remember how the 15-year-old amateur singer from Tagum, Davao del Norte provided delightful entertainment and laughter to the hosts and the madlang people not only because of her impressive singing prowess, but also of her hilarious behavior and unmistakable bubbliness while on-stage.
And these are the same qualities of the “Teenig ng Tawanan ng Davao” that captivated the council, composed of eight previous PBB housemates, and made them decide to choose her as their bet.
Karina Bautista - Miss Independent ng Isabela
Another Filipina-Japanese in the roster, the “Miss Independent of Isabela” became an official housemate after garnering the highest percentage of text votes, 57.02% to be exact.
Since she’s been living independently under the care of a family with whom she stays as a bed spacer, staying inside the house with seven other teenagers like her will presumably be a breeze for the 16-year-old pageant enthusiast and student leader.
Jelay Pilones - Ang Sassy Sipag girl ng Gensan
At first glance, many of us were quick to see her resemblance with PBB Teens 1 winner and PBB: Otso host Kim Chiu.
At 17, she’s already able to help her family with their finances by working as a part-time singer in bars and want to support them further by joining the reality program.
The “Sassy Sipag Girl ng GenSan (or General Santos City)” was the first female teen Star Dreamer to be hailed as a housemate after defeating the other aspirants in the 88-second challenge of building the highest tower out of colored bottled water.
Who among these talented and gorgeous is/are your early bet/s? Get to know them more by watching Pinoy Big Brother: Otso weeknights after Halik and at 7:30pm every weekend.
