“Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” ex-housemate Dylan Yturralde has everyone buzzing with his charm, champion’s heart, and let’s not forget the positivity that keeps him spiking his way to bigger dreams and opportunities.
Today, we’re diving even deeper to get to know Dylan through his ‘firsts.’ Read on and watch the Kapamilya Chat video for the ‘deets’ about his go-to song, first celebrity crush, and even the first housemate he got close to inside the PBB house.
When asked about the first recipe he learned, Dylan laughed and confessed he’s not quite the master chef, jestingly calling himself the ‘OJT ng kitchen,’ aka the ‘taga-hiwa at hugas.’ It looks like cooking isn’t his strong suit just yet, but he’s definitely on his way to learning more.
The first person who inspired him to be a better man? It’s none other than his younger self! Every time he looks at his old photos, he’s reminded of how far he’s come, “Parang, ‘Grabe! Namomroblema ako ngayon, eh, dati ganyan ka lang.’ Ginagano’n ko ‘yung sarili ko, parang, ‘Ang layo mo na.’ Tulad ng sinasabi nila, malayo pa pero malayo na.” He looks back on those carefree days when young Dylan would only worry about sneaking out of afternoon naps. He loves those simple memories, which keep him grounded and motivated to keep going.
When asked about the first song on his playlist, Dylan reveals his current LSS is Daniel Caesar’s “Always,” thanks to a random convo with housemate Jarren Garcia inside Kuya’s house.
Speaking of housemates, the “Astig Volleybae ng Pampanga” says he felt an instant connection with Jarren, as well as with Jas Scales, both of whom he saw during the auditions, making them the first housemates he got close with. This trio shared the same career mindset and were each other’s cheerleaders when things got tough. “’Pag may rest time kami, laging gano’n ang pinag-uusapan namin. Excited kami sa progress ng bawat isa,” said Dylan.
He was super happy to find out that the people he auditioned with would also end up being his housemates. Looking back, he shared that he didn’t have any expectations—he just kept showing up at every callback and praying day and night, saying, “Lord, kung para sa akin ‘to, tulungan Mo ‘ko. If hindi para sa akin, tulungan Mo pa rin ako. Kung makakapasok ako, ituro Mo sa akin kung bakit ako nandito.”
When it comes to friendships, Dylan is open to being friends with anyone, but he’s especially drawn to people who are teachable and eager to learn, just like him. "I’m not all-knowing," he admitted, which is why his goal is to learn something new every day. He even regrets not getting a chance to talk to Joshua Garcia, who recently visited Kuya's house, because he had so many questions for him about acting. But now that he’s back in the outside world, who knows? He might finally get the chance to learn everything he’s been wanting to, especially about the life of an actor.
He really admires people who excel in the craft of acting, which is why he likes Andrea Brillantes, his first celebrity crush.
And for our ‘pahabol’ trivia, we asked Dylan what the first thing he would do upon waking up in Kuya’s house was. Dylan shared a funny tidbit—he never used the chamber pot in their room, so he’d make sure to hit the toilet as soon as he woke up. Everyone’s got their quirks, right?
