Stepping out of the “Pinoy Big Brother” house is never easy, but for Marc Nanninga Jr and Kanata Tapia, their journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. As the latest double evictees of “PBB Gen 11,” they’re ready to share their experiences and reveal what really went down inside the Bahay Ni Kuya during their stint. From unexpected friendships to intense challenges, Marc and Kanata are opening up about their journey and how the show has changed them forever. Now, they’re ready for new and bigger adventures outside the famous blue and yellow house.

As the youngest housemates—Kanata is 16 and Marc is 17—being cut off from the outside world and thrown into a house full of strangers was a wild experience. At first, Kanata felt lost, wondering how she would fit in. But over time, she found her place among the housemates, who treated her like the youngest princess of the group. The biggest lesson she learned during her short stay in PBB is that she doesn’t need to please others to belong. Instead, she just needs to stay where she feels most welcomed.

Marc still can’t believe that the experiences he used to watch on TV are now his own, like the emotional moments when Kuya’s words brought him to tears. Unlike Kanata, who’s shy and introverted, Marc is naturally outgoing. But he quickly learned that just because you’re sociable doesn’t mean everything will go your way. He realized that not everyone appreciates an extroverted personality—some might even misinterpret it.

In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, the two reflect on their paths to becoming housemates. Kanata sees her PBB journey as destiny. Initially, her grandmother opposed the idea of her joining, so she kept her audition process a secret from everyone, including her friends and family. She auditioned online, and when she finally received a callback from PBB, she had no choice but to tell her family the truth since she needed their consent as a minor. Thankfully, after learning about her passion and determination, they gave their full support. With that, Kanata entered the house with confidence and peace of mind.

She remembers feeling pressured and unable to sleep from excitement as their first night in the PBB house approached. But once she stepped inside and started to feel more at ease, she stopped worrying and being self-conscious about the cameras following their every move. She quickly became comfortable and embraced the show’s motto—pagpapakatotoo.

Although Kanata was evicted early, she’s excited about the many wonderful things awaiting her in the outside world. One significant development in her life is her chance to reconnect with her estranged father, thanks to Kuya’s help. Before leaving the confession room for the last time, Kanata learned that her father had responded positively to the PBB staff's message and wanted to reunite with her as well. The charming “Lola-Ving Apo ng Occidental Mindoro” shared that she has reached out to her father and is now patiently waiting for his reply.

Though their audition stories are different, Marc’s journey to becoming a housemate was just as meant to be as Kanata’s. Marc was initially just tagging along with a friend who wanted to audition. When his friend backed out due to nerves, Marc found himself auditioning alone. To overcome his own jitters, he focused on the mindset that if it was meant to be, it would happen. He enjoyed the audition process, especially meeting and making friends with fellow contestants along the way.

Finally, Marc was selected as one of the housemates. Just moments before entering the house, he felt a pang of sadness, knowing he would miss his loved ones, especially his mother, who had accompanied him to the PBB house on the first night. The “Sporty-go-lucky Kuya ng Camarines Norte” is all about making friends, and his excitement was evident when he stepped inside Bahay Ni Kuya. Removing his blindfold, he was amazed to see housemates JM Ibarra and Dylan Yturralde, and he remembers being impressed by their height. They quickly struck up a conversation, and Marc’s friendly nature shone through as he chatted with his new housemates.

Inside the house, everyone truly felt like a family, so they never saw each other as threats. As Kanata described it, it felt like a relaxed outing with friends. Despite the positive atmosphere and fun moments, they, of course, faced real challenges and tasks from Kuya that provided them with important life lessons.

When asked about their biggest takeaways from their PBB journey, Kanata reflected on the importance of self-confidence. For Marc, one memorable piece of advice he received from Big Brother was to be mindful of his actions, as not everyone would understand his sociable nature—some housemates even misinterpreted it. Marc shared, “Hindi lahat ng tao papabor sa’yo lalo na kung pinapakita mo ‘yung totoo mong ugali. Kasi hindi naman po tayo perpekto.” For him, his PBB experience was a real eye-opener.

The room was buzzing with excitement when they were asked which Kapamilya artists they’d like to interact with. Kanata couldn’t hide her kilig at the thought of meeting Joshua Garcia in person. When asked who she’d want as a celebrity co-housemate, she picked Maymay Entrata for her vibrant personality and Big Winner mindset.

Meanwhile, Marc was consistent in his praise for Kyle Echarri, especially the young actor’s versatility. He would also choose the “Pamilya Sagrado” star as a housemate if given the chance, noting that Kyle’s previous experience in the Big Brother house would be an added bonus.

They are both excited about exploring showbiz opportunities, including acting. Kanata is eager to try different genres, especially if it means working with her idol, Joshua. On the other hand, Marc is interested in comedy and would love the chance to work with Vice Ganda and Coco Martin.
