From being the “Talented Darling of Parañaque City” who charmed us with her beauty and bubbly personality during her remarkable stint as one of the housemates of Pinoy Big Brother All In in 2014, Loisa Andalio has gone to become one of the bankable actresses of her generation.
And now that she’s off to take on a new role in the upcoming series Pira-pirasong Paraiso, let’s look back on her teleserye appearances in the past nine years that enabled her to exhibit her impressive acting chops and molded her to become one of the rising leading ladies of today in this Kapamilya Spotlight feature!
Loisa may have fallen short in her bid to becoming part of the Big 4, but a slew of television projects welcomed her upon coming out of the PBB house. She had her teleserye debut via the 2015 afternoon soap opera Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita, in which she endeared us with her character Beatriz. That was succeeded by her first-ever Ipaglaban Mo gig through the “Kapalit ng Pag-ibig” episode, wherein she played Olivia, a young woman who seeks justice for the death of her beau, portrayed by fellow PBB alumni Yves Flores, after being murdered by her own father and brother.
Her team-up with Yves seemed to be effective as they got paired once again in the daytime series Be My Lady the following year, as she took on the role of his love interest Margaret. She was then able to show her versatility as an actress in the “Sanib” episode of Ipaglaban Mo, as she wowed us with her depiction of a demon-possessed lady named Lanie. Subsequently, she fascinated us with her performance in Wansapanataym Presents Candy’s Crush as the admirable titular character and in the “Karnabal” episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya as the wife of Yves’ character.
The year 2017 was indeed a busy one for her as she starred not just in one, but two Kapamilya series. First was in My Dear Heart, wherein she was cast as Agatha, the younger sister of Bela Padilla’s character Clara; then in The Good Son, which served as her reunion project with PBB All In batchmate Joshua Garcia, two years after working together for the first time in Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita. She played the role of his character’s love interest, Hazel.
A year after, she played the titular character anew in another Wansapanataym narrative titled “Gelli In A Bottle”, which she starred together with her real-and-reel life sweetheart Ronnie Alonte. She was then able to showcase her dramatic prowess in her stints in the “Katiwala” episode of Ipaglaban Mo and in the “Sementeryo” episode of MMK.
In 2019, Loisa and Ronnie, or fondly regarded as LoiNie, were chosen to star in the “Jersey” episode of MMK, which chronicled the inspiring life story of then fast-rising varsity basketball player Paul Desiderio. The baller was depicted by Ronnie, while she portrayed his then-girlfriend and UAAP courtside reporter Jean Agatha Uvero. They were also part of the action-drama series The General’s Daughter, in which she was tapped to play Claire, the younger sister of JC De Vera’s character Maj. Ethan del Fierro.
Aside from these Kapamilya TV shows, the 24-year-old actress also starred in three iWantTFC originals series, namely, “Past, Present, Perfect? (2019), “Unloving U” (2021), and “The Goodbye Girl” (2022), with boyfriend Ronnie Alonte being her onscreen partner in the latter two.
It was in 2022 when she snagged her first-ever lead role in a teleserye through the romance-fantasy drama Love In 40 Days, wherein she impressed us with her performance as the main character Jane Marasigan, a successful and aggressive careerwoman who’s able to uncover the truths and secrets not just in her life, but in Ronnie’s character Edward at the same time.
And this 2023, she’s about to further prove herself as a noteworthy actress as she stars in the upcoming TV drama Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, playing the role of an imposter named Baby. Are you looking forward as us to see how she’s going to nail it?
Pira-Pirasong Paraiso serves as ABS-CBN’s much-awaited return to afternoon prime and its first collaboration with TV5, which will premiere on July 25 at 3PM and will also have Saturday episodes at 2:30PM. You may catch it on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z and TV5.
