In his 15 years of being a Kapamilya, Joseph Marco has indeed already established himself as one of the most bankable heartthrobs and promising leading men in the local entertainment scene. He has already portrayed various roles in the teleseryes and movies that he starred in, and has done various genres that truly developed his acting chops and put his versatility to the test.
And soon, we’re going to see him in Pira-Pirasong Paraiso as Vladimir “Vlad” Lamadrid, the stepson of Charlie Dizon’s character Diana Paraiso-Lamadrid. While we are now looking forward to see if he’s going to be really a foe to her or will he become her friend, let’s revisit his incredible acting journey through the years in this Kapamilya Spotlight feature!
His showbiz career might have begun in 2007, but it was only until 2010 when we started seeing him on Kapamilya TV after he decided to transfer. The first project he did under ABS-CBN was the romance drama Sabel, wherein he was able to immediately swoon us as the dashing Raymond Sandoval, one of the admirers of the titular character played by Jessy Mendiola.
After having his debut in Maalaala Mo Kaya and Wansapanataym in 2011, he had a pretty hectic schedule the following year as he appeared in three teleseryes – fantasy science fiction series E-Boy as the teen Miguel Villareal (Jomari Yllana), Precious Hearts Romances Presents Pintada as Julian Sandejas, and teen drama Princess and I as Dasho Kim Methra. He also wowed us with his performances in two MMK episodes titled “Motorsiklo” and “Police Uniform”.
In 2013, he was cast in the Judy Ann Santos-starrer Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala as Leandro Panaligan, as well as in the inspirational kiddie serye Honesto, wherein he truly astounded us with his compelling portrayal of the young man with cognitive disability named Elijah “Elai” Galang, who’s the adoptive brother of the titular character played by then-child star Raikko Mateo. He also did the “Kulungan” episode of MMK and the “My Fairy Kasambahay” narrative of Wansapanataym.
Joseph eventually landed the leading man role in the teleserye Pure Love, which was the Filipino adaptation of the Korean drama “49 Days.” He played Dave Martinez Jr., the love interest of the characters of Alex Gonzaga and Yen Santos.
He then had a brief yet significant participation in the afternoon soap opera Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita? as the teen Nicanor “Kanor” Galvez, the character portrayed Christopher Roxas. However, it was in his stint in the Pinoy incarnation of the Colombian telenovela “Pasion de Gavilanes” – Pasion de Amor – as Franco, the youngest among the hot Samonte brothers that arguably made us swoon more.
It was in 2016 when he had his Ipaglaban Mo debut via its “Tiwala” episode, wherein he compelled us with his gripping performance as Tonyo, a physically disabled man who mercilessly raped and murdered his stepdaughter. He also had awesome performances in the “Punong ng Mangga” episode of MMK and in the romance drama Dolce Amore as the supporting character River Cruz.
From 2017 to 2018, we’d followed his journey as Diego Torillo, the gorgeous man to whom Maja Salvador’s iconic characters Ivy Aguas and Lily Cruz fell in love with in the well-loved and highly talked about series Wildflower.
The year 2019 was indeed a busy one for him as he starred in a slew of projects. He got us smitten with him in Precious Hearts Romances Presents Los Bastardos as one of the dashing Cardinal brothers named Lorenzo. He then portrayed current Senator Bong Go in the depiction of his life story on MMK titled “Steak,” then the young Zacharias "Ga" Bayawa, the long-lost sweetheart of Tawag ng Tanghalan alumna Violeta Bayawa. It was also on that year when he appeared in the iWantTFC originals series “Touch Screen” and “Uncoupling.”
Amidst the pandemic from 2020 to 2021, Joseph was able to join the stellar cast of the revenge drama Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, making our hearts flutter as he took on the role of Avel Mansueto Jr., bodyguard-turned-lover of Jodi Sta. Maria’s character Marissa.
He once again got into action when he became part of the final season of the long-running action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano that ran from 2021 to 2022, as supporting character as Lucas Catapang, a morally upright lackey of antagonist Amando Silang (John Estrada).
And this 2023, Joseph will try to win our hearts anew through his latest role Vladimir “Vlad” Lamadrid, the son of Julius Lamadrid (Art Acuña), who will seemingly keep an eye to every move that his dad’s new wife Diana Paraiso, to be played by Charlie Dizon, is going to make.
Is he going to be her ally or enemy? Well, that’s for us to find out, so you must not miss an episode of Pira-Pirasong Paraiso once it premieres this July 25 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z and TV5. This serves as ABS-CBN’s much-awaited return to afternoon prime and its first co-production with TV5, which will be aired on the said channels at 3PM on weekdays and at 2:30PM every Saturday.
