Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte prove that couples who are also workmates can survive the setup and even feel a greater sense of connection to one another. The lovebirds collaborate anew, alongside equally brilliant young Kapamilya stars, in the much-anticipated teleserye “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso,” co-produced by ABS-CBN and TV5.
“Okay, samahan kita, gawin natin ‘to.” This was Ronnie’s reaction when Loisa told him that he was being considered for the role of Jonaf, a cop, in “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” after she got the confirmation that she’d be playing Baby, a con artist.
LoiNie is winning together as they star in the new riveting teleserye after the success of “Love In 40 Days.” “Kami ni Ronnie, grateful lang kami palagi sa mga opportunities na binibigay sa amin,” smiled Loisa in this episode of Kapamilya Chat, while Ronnie agreed to what she said.
The project itself was quite a surprise to them, as they were previously told that they would be getting more individual instead of loveteam projects after “Love In 40 Days.”
But whether together or not, they would support each other and celebrate their individual growth. “Ang importante kasi sa amin trabaho, basta kumikita kami. Kung meron siyang ganap, proud ako para sa kanya. Basta gusto mo ‘yung story, go.” Ronnie added that he’s used to working with just Loisa, but now their world is expanding and they must evolve as actors.
This couple is all about teamwork.
“Dati, nakikita ko na kaming dalawa lang magka-eksena tapos sobrang pa-sweet pa ng mga linyahan namin. Eh, ngayon, ‘pag nababasa ko sa script na ka-eksena niya sina Sir Epy [Quizon], sina Sir Art Acuna, talagang natutuwa ako para kay Ronnie kasi nakikita ko siyang nag-go-grow talaga,” she shared.
Loisa, who got all the more thrilled upon learning about the show’s all-female cast, said that she’s excited to work again with Alexa Ilacad and Elisse Joson, whom she first worked with in “The Good Son,” while she’s done some ASAP Natin ‘To prod with Charlie Dizon. She’s been looking forward to finally working with director Raymund Ocampo as well.
Speaking of workmates, they admitted to the pressure and jitters of being surrounded by seasoned thespians, especially since they’re used to having just each other on the set. No amount of preparation could ease the anxiety, they thought. But one thing they love about their senior co-actors is they make them feel comfortable. In no time, they started to see the veterans as approachable than intimidating.
“Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” follows a woman’s quest to find her two sisters from whom she was separated as a child. Loisa plays Baby, the adopted member of a family of con artists. Based on the trailer, she will pretend to be one of the long-lost sisters of Diana (Charlie). Loisa prepared for her role by watching movies and K-Drama with the same theme as “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso.”
As for Ronnie, playing Jonaf marks his transition from “pa-sweet” to a more serious actor. His dream to do action finally happens in “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso.” The good thing is he has a lot of cop buddies, from whom he got inspiration for his portrayal. “Mas kinilatis ko kung paano sila makipag-usap, kung paano sila tumindig.” He said that he wants to make his police officer character different from other police characters that viewers have watched in the past.
In keeping with the story’s theme, LoiNie was asked the “missing piece” that they’re still trying to accomplish in their lives. They both answered “dreams.” Loisa said that Baby being a girl with big dreams has resonated with her.
What can viewers expect from the series? “Ang daming character na bubuo doon sa mga pira-pirasong paraiso na dapat nilang abangan,” Loisa teased.
Catch the premiere of “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” this July 25, at 3 pm. It will air Monday to Friday at 3 pm, and Saturday at 2:30 pm, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z
