The missing piece to the Paraiso puzzle has been found after Beth (Alexa Ilacad) discovered a DNA Test result in her Lola Amanda (Maricel Soriano)’s office proving that Baby (Loisa Andalio) is Amy, the sister that she and Diana (Charlie Dizon) have been searching for. However, as reality sets in, reuniting the sisters will be harder than we’ve anticipated.
Baby’s world feels so heavy like she’s living in an infinite tunnel of tribulation. Yet, the heartaches and tests are exactly what give her the strength to keep going and make her life more interesting. In this Kapamilya Toplist video, her most agonizing days in Pira-Pirasong Paraiso.
Baby concocted the right amount of fierceness and fragility when she aired her frustrations about living the life of a con artist. Her adoptive mother, Osang (Sunshine Dizon), told her to leave as she pleases. However, she refused to abandon the people who became her family, oblivious to their betrayals.
She got another taste of disappointment when Badong (Epy Quizon) said that he faked the DNA test which resulted in her common parentage with Diana. Keeping her all the more heartbroken was the fact that she’d learned to care for Diana like a true sister. She wanted to disobey Badong’s order for her to keep pretending that she’s the missing Amy. Feeling trapped in her sham, Baby drowned in guilt since Diana had been showing her nothing but kindness.
Fate has been crafting devastatingly sad plot twists in Baby’s life since. The time had come for her to admit that she was just ordered to steal Amy’s identity. In hindsight, this scene is too hurtful as Baby had to succumb to guilt and pain, oblivious to her real identity as Amy.
The villains won when they managed to send Baby to jail, where she became the target of violence. There was a scene where the senior inmates ganged up on her and almost killed her with their punches and kicks.
After her release from prison, her foster family continued crucifying her for the mistakes that she didn’t make such Kano (Markus Paterson)’s loss. In a dramatic exchange, Baby begged for Osang’s forgiveness even if she only did the right thing by ditching Badong’s evil plans. The worst thing is that she continues to endure the brunt of Badong’s ire, which often leads to physical violence. One time, she was punched, kicked, pushed onto the floor, and held at gunpoint.
Baby is truly the underdog in the story as she’s often made to suffer the consequences of sins she didn’t commit, such as Amanda’s murder. At some point, the Paraisos, overwhelmed by pain and rage, pinned the blame on Baby, who was the first person to discover Amanda’s body. She might have proven her innocence, but it only triggered the villains, who tried to get rid of her by burning down her rented place. Baby lost everything in that fire – her little savings, all her stuff, and her faith. She cried to Jonaf (Ronnie Alonte), saying she doesn’t where to begin again.
Kano resurfaced to reveal that Osang and Badong abducted him, Baby, and Hilary when they were kids, and that’s how their lives turned into a living hell. Baby must have felt so broken when she confronted Osang about this, considering that she loves her like a true family.
Of course, we felt sad when she had an inkling about her identity as Amy but couldn’t tell Diana about it. She approached Diana and handed her Amy’s infant band which she accidentally found while rummaging through Osang’s belongings. Her genuine intention to help was repaid with hurtful accusations.
When will fate learn to be kind to Baby?
