10 times Osang failed to hide her motherly affection for Baby in “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso”

Baby (Loisa Andalio)’s life is made of sterner stuff. But there’s Osang (Sunshine Dizon), the adoptive mother who helps her power through. Osang may be tough and cold on the facade, but her actions reveal that she loves Baby like her own. As she said, “I love you” sounds too cheesy, that’s why she’d rather show affection without saying these words.

In this Kapamilya Toplist video from “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso,” Osang showing her kind of motherly love.

She’s not the type to sugarcoat things and serve up the sweetest motivational quote, but you know that she’s silently cheering you on. When Baby talked about her plans on going back to school, Osang had sour comments at first, implying that dreaming is not for the poor like them.

She even pushed Baby away when she caught her acting out her frustrations, then gave her money so she could leave. But the truth is she wanted Baby to just go and do what must be done for her dream diploma and come back whenever possible. In turn, Baby knew that her Momshie Osang needs her company, especially for her dialysis sessions, that’s why she promised not to love, although time will come when circumstances will force her to. When that happens, Osang will make sure to sustain their connection.

Like all mothers, Osang also craves ‘lambing’ from her children, though she isn’t the sappy type to ask for it. Baby would just know when her Momshie needs a little love. It’s a language only they understand.

When Baby visited to bring gifts from Diana (Charlie Dizon), at the time when she still pretending to be the missing Paraiso, Osang appeared embittered that Baby has found a new family to love. She was jealous because she missed her ‘anak-anakan.’ She said that Baby is the only one who passionately makes time to accompany her to her dialysis sessions, unlike Hilary (Elisse Joson) and Kano (Markus Paterson), whom she described as ‘sakit sa ulo.’ Osang felt comforted when Baby gave her a little back rub, then asked Hilary to prepare a plate for Baby because she wanted her to join them for dinner.

No matter how may times she sends Baby away, Osang will never stop caring for her. She would find a way to see her, that is, even if all they do is argue because of Baby’s conflicted relationship with her Papshie Badong (Epy Quizon). Osang warned Baby to cut her ties with the Paraiso sisters Diana and Beth (Charlie Dizon) as the only way to save her from Badong’s wrath.

She may not say it, but bringing Baby her favorite sinigang dish while confined in a hospital after an accident speaks volume of her motherly love. When she noticed her care getting too obvious, she held back and told Baby to eat on her own.

Viewers were certainly moved when Baby asked why Osang never told them “I love you” even once. Osang replied that she’d rather love in deed, and then asked if Baby has never really felt her love. Baby knew the answer.

When she found out that Baby’s place was burned down, she was quick to show up at Baby’s workplace and hand her ‘ukay-ukay’ clothes. She then begged her again to stay away from Diana and Beth, as her connections to them would only bring her harm.

What secret about Baby does Osang keep?
