ABS-CBN Entertainment and TV5 are set to fire up the afternoon viewing of audiences with “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” that is set to air on weekdays at 3pm beginning July 25 (Tuesday).
Here are five exciting reasons on why you should not dare miss it!
A “first” for both LoiNie and KDLex loveteams
Ardent shippers of Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte would surely know that their team-up was born when they’re already a couple, which is kind of odd since what usually happens is the other way around, right? It all started when both of them are still part of It’s Showtime as members of its in-house boy and girl groups Hashtags and GirlTrends. They’ve been a couple for six years and has done a number of projects together, which include Wansapanataym Presents Gelli In A Bottle and the primetime series Love In 40 Days.
On the other hand, KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad’s loveteam is quite new, as it only blossomed during their memorable stint in Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 in 2021. They’ve already worked on a few gigs together since then, such as the iWantTFC original series “Run To Me.”
While both Loisa and Alexa, who used to work in The Good Son in 2017, have already appeared in dramas slated in the afternoon slot – Loisa through Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita (2015) and Alexa via Bagito (2014) and Doble Kara (2016) – this is just going to be their first time to star in one with their respective partners. Besides, it’s also KDLex’s teleserye debut, so we’re looking forward to see how their dynamics will be.
Sure-fire performances from Charlie Dizon, Elisse Joson, and Joseph Marco
Apart from the four promising actors we’ve mentioned, Pira-Pirasong Paraiso will also be topbilled by promising stars Charlie Dizon, Elisse Joson, and Joseph Marco. Over the years that they’ve been in the entertainment scene, they are able to showcase their impressive range as thespians and amazed us with their versatility and naturality.
Charlie’s mind-blowing performance in the 2020 Metro Manila Film Fest entry “Fangirl” was indeed critically-acclaimed and even brought her two Best Actress accolades. And we get to witness her award-winning acting chops in the iWantTFC original series “My Sunset Girl” and Viral Scandal, both released in 2021.
Elisse, meanwhile, has been acting for a decade now, with her striking portrayal of the antagonist Sophie Madrigales in the controversial revenge drama Dirty Linen as one of her most recent works.
On the other hand, Joseph has impressed us with his performances in the past 16 years that he’s been in the industry, such as Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin (2020) and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano (2021).
And we’re certain that their sure-fire performances in this much-awaited soap opera definitely be significant additional acting credit for them.
Powerhouse ensemble cast, riveting acting showdown
Pira-Pirasong Paraiso is also comprised by a pool of stellar ensemble cast. The full trailer revealed that seasoned character actors Art Acuña, Epy Quizon, Sunshine Dizon, and Liza Diño are going to play significant roles in this series, with Epy and Sunshine portraying Badong and Osang, the adoptive parents of Loisa and Elisse’s characters Baby and Hilary, respectively.
Veteran actress Snooky Serna will also have a special participation in the series as Jacinda Lamadrid, the antagonistic ex-wife of Art’s character Julius. Since Charlie’s character Diana is Julius’ current wife, we’re surely going to see a lot of tarayan moments and showdowns between her and Jacinda.
Promising actors Markus Paterson, Argel Saycon, and Kate Alejandrino are also part of it, as well as up-and-coming young talent Kobe Medalla. While it’s already known that Markus will play Kano, the adoptive brother of Baby and Hilary, we look forward on finding out what roles the others are going to play in the lives of the four lead female characters.
Family values and lessons on life and love
Of course, Pira-Pirasong Paraiso doesn’t only boast a stellar lineup of cast and an interesting narrative, but also presents valuable family values and lessons on life and love that viewers can probably relate to.
In Diana’s undying quest for her two long-list sisters, we can clearly see how she values her family so much, especially that she’s seemingly the eldest. In the trailer, she can be heard saying that she has made it as her life’s mission to look for her siblings.
The Abiog family, a.k.a. the family of con artists will be a testament of how far a person, or in their case a family, can go in order to make both ends meet, and even achieve the more comfortable life they’re dreaming of. Even though it’s against her will, Baby will have no choice but to sacrifice and agree to her father’s idea to pretend as one of the missing Paraiso sisters and take advantage of Diana’s vulnerability in order to extort money from her.
Alexa’s character, Angela, on the other hand, may probably inspire us to unwaveringly seek for truth and uphold it, which is something that we don’t seem to value anymore at present.
We’re certainly going to obtain more life realizations and takeaways from the story of the Paraiso family and of the people around them, so we better not miss an episode once it premieres.
Marks the much-awaited return of Kapamilya Gold
It has been around four years since the last time that ABS-CBN had a Kapamilya Gold in its lineup. And despite the loss of franchise, it’s truly delighting that the media company is able to resurrect it and in more platforms.
Apart from being the first-ever collaboration of ABS-CBN and TV5 for a TV show, Pira-Pirasong Paraiso also marks the much-awaited return of Kapamilya Gold, so we’re certain that it’s going to be sure-fire. One of its brilliant directors Raymund B. Ocampo, who also helmed the legendary series Wildflower alongside Roderick P. Lindayag, promised that we’re going to witness a different level of noise and color in every scene – the true trademark of afternoon soap operas we grew up to, right?
We’re excited to see how this series will live up to its tagline “Ang teleseryeng bubuo sa hapon mo!”
Kapamilya, don’t miss an episode of Pira-Pirasong Paraiso beginning this July 25. You may watch it from Mondays to Fridays at 3PM and Saturdays at 2:30PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z and TV5.
