There’s definitely no doubt that Angelica Panganiban is one of the most famous personalities in the local entertainment scene. Starting out as a child star who endeared us with her cuteness and impressive acting talent, we’ve witnessed how she has bloomed into becoming one of the most beautiful and seasoned and versatile actresses in the country.
Born Angelica Jane Charlson on November 4, 1986, she kicked off her career at the age of 6 when she appeared in the television program “Love Notes” and had her first-ever regular show through the iconic 90s youth-oriented variety show, “Ang TV”. Her dramatic prowess got noticed and recognized through her stints in the films “Separada” (1994), “Sarah... Ang Munting Prinsesa” (1995), “Ama, Ina, Anak” (1996), and “Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin?” (1997), where she earned Best Child Actress awards and nominations from various award-giving bodies.
She went on to become a household name and part of the Star Magic Batch 2, alongside Marvin Agustin, Alisah Bonaobra, Mylene Dizon, Patrick Garcia, Jolina Magdangal, Diether Ocampo, Camille Prats, John Prats, and her former reel-and-real life sweetheart Carlo Aquino.
Angelica continued to charm us a teen star through her appearances Kapamilya programs G-Mik (1999), Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka (2001), Berks (2002), Mangarap Ka (2004), and Vietnam Rose (2005). She also played late young actress Julie Vega in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya in 2003.
She also appeared in a number of movies, “Ang Pulubi at Ang Prinsesa” (1997), “Magandang Hatinggabi,” (1998), “Daddy O, Baby O” (2000), “Mila” (2001), “Tabi Tabi Po” (2001), “Ang Tanging Ina” (2003), and “Mano Po 3: My Love” (2004). But it was through her remarkable portrayal of the titular role in the 2004 thriller-drama flick “Santa Santita” that she earned nominations as Best Actress from ENPRESS Golden Screen Award and FAMAS Award.
In the recent years, the award-winning 35-year-old actress has astounded us with her portrayals in ABS-CBN teleseryes Pangako Sa 'Yo (2015), Playhouse (2018), and Walang Hanggang Paalam (2020), as well as movies “That Thing Called Tadhana” (2014), “The Unmarried Wife” (2016), “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes” (2018), “Exes Baggage” (2018), “Unbreakable” (2019), “Love Lockdown” (2020), and “Love Or Money (2021).”
And beginning this February 14, she’s going to enthrall us anew with her acting chops in the much-awaited iWantTFC Original series “The Goodbye Girl.”
