Diego Loyzaga: From Boy-next-door to the Other Leading Man
Diego Loyzaga, son of action star Cesar Montano and actress Teresa Loyzaga, first ventured in the show business in 2011. It was made official when he signed a three-year contract with the Kapamilya Network in March of that year. If the talent in acting is a DNA, it may have rubbed off on the then-15-year-old who once said in an interview with Push.com.ph that he enjoys acting. “At school, we have theater po, I really enjoy being part of it. That’s one of the reasons, besides my parents po, that I want to try if I am capable of being what they have achieved,” he added.

He was first seen onscreen through the TV series "Mara Clara," a remake of the 1992 series of the same title topbilled by Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes. The 2010 version was starred in by Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Motes. Diego played the role of Derrick Gonzales

He then became part of the youth-oriented drama series "Growing Up" where he was casted as Jason Rivero alongside Mara Clara stars Kathryn and Julia. He played as the brother of Patrick Rivero (Daniel Padilla)

He was nominated as Amazing Male Newcomer in Yahoo! Awards Philippines that year.

When Diego entered showbiz in 2011, he made a promise to his father that school will always come first. That was the only way that his parents will allow him to venture in the otherwise hectic and stressful world of entertainment. So in 2012, he took a break from TV and flew to Australia to finish his studies.

In May of 2013, the young lad returned onscreen through an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya where he was casted alongside Ella Cruz, Liza Soberano, and Khalil Ramos. He played the role of a highschool heartthrob.
