“I don’t usually do this kasi parang feeling ko kasi ang bahay ko is my sacred place. This is the only place na parang feeling ko eh amin lang.”

This was the opening statement of "Pamilya Sagrado" star Aiko Melendez in her latest vlog, wherein she gave us a mini tour around her gorgeous, cozy, and minimalist living room and bedroom, which she regards as two of her favorite spots in their house.

She started the mini tour at their receiving area, which was splashed with neutral colors from the walls and some decorations to the furniture. Those who have been following her on Instagram and watching her vlogs might have caught sight of their living room in some of her posts. Thus, she finally decided to give us a full view of it.

Their spacious living room actually has three parts. She began the tour at the selfie area, where she and her visitors usually have their pictures taken whenever they’re at their home. The area was comprised of a posh statement armchair and a long side table both in dirty white, a colorful painting, an orchid planted in a pot, and a synthetic gold plant.

“Mahilig talaga ako when it comes to house na simple but aesthetically beautiful kasi hindi ako naniniwala na kapag maraming borloloy ay doon makikita ang ganda ng bahay. For me, simplicity is class, simplicity is understatement. Pero kapag nakita mong malinis lang, maaliwalas lang, doon talaga ako nagba-base,” she said.

Aiko then showed us “Living Room 1," where her vlogs are usually shot. It is surrounded by curtains in beige and white and features a long beige sofa and a complementary chair that serves as the “aminan area” or “main character area” for her guests on and off her interview vlogs. She proceeded to “Living Room 2," which has stark upholstered white chairs, a green-beige table, a couple of plant accents, and a tall orange giraffe sculpture that holds a little gold chandelier.

“Like what I’ve said, gusto ko talaga sobrang simple lang ng bahay ko. And naniniwala ako na kapag malinis lang, kapag maaliwalas lang tingnan ‘yong isang bahay, nagfi-fit ‘yon sa character ko. Kasi as a person, simple lang naman talaga ako, hindi ako maarte,” the seasoned actress stated.

Then she added, “Gusto ko talaga mostly kapag wala akong trabaho, nasa bahay lang ako. And gusto ko ‘tong area na ‘to kaya ko pinakita sa inyo [ang] living room ko kasi kapag wala akong work, dito talaga ako madalas. Dito ako nakikipag-usap, dito nga ‘yong sa vlog ko.”

According to the Kapamilya actress, she has a giraffe sculpture in their living room not only to pop color in that area that is bathed in neutral colors, but she also learned from the internet that having any animal fixtures in the house is actually lucky.

Just like the receiving area, her bedroom is also simple and splashed with neutral hues. She didn’t give us a complete tour of it, as she only showed her mattress, which she’s very proud of. She shared that she invested so much in it, as she firmly believes that it’s a must since we spend around half of our every day in bed.

She shared that she and her children, Andrei and Marthena, usually spend time in her bedroom simply chatting and catching up with one another. Her Japanese-style king-sized bed is not just spacious and soft, but it also uses special technology to provide her with a comfortable sleep.

Aiko went on to reveal that behind the headboard of her bed is a secret area, which is a favorite of her and her glam team. She also demonstrated how her high-tech remote-controlled curtains work, which gives great lighting and a fantastic view to her especially at daytime.

The seasoned actress and politician capped off this vlog by sharing why she was hands-on in picking the pieces that she would like to include in her living room and bedroom.

“Kasi ‘yan ang dalawang area na, I think talaga, para sa akin pinaka importanteng area na kailangan relaxed ka, kailangan comfortable ka dahil diyan mostly ang time napagtatambayan ko, lalo na when I’m making decisions. So, naniniwala ako na dapat ‘yan ang tutukan n’yo ng pansin,” she said.
