For the sixth episode of the Online Kapamilya Shows (OKS) program “Pamilya KoWentuhan” that was streamed on Friday, May 29, the Mabunga Family of the well-loved primetime series Pamilya Ko that we all dearly miss talks about mental health and the things they do in order to overcome the problems related to it or in order to prevent it.
The episode commenced with the “Pamilya Ko-Arantips” segment in which JM de Guzman, who plays the firstborn Chico, enumerated several ways on how to take care of your mental health based apparently on his experiences.
For him, this includes sharing how you truly feel to your family or friends; reminding yourself that it’s just okay to feel anxious or lonely; finding an outlet to address how you feel, such as by working out, meditating, listening to music, and eating healthy; and praying and using this time to reflect deeper. By doing so, he’s certain that we will come out “stronger, wiser, and more optimistic” once this crisis is over.
The Mabunga Fam then went on to exchange their thoughts about how this pandemic and community quarantine have affected their mental health, changed the way they think and feel about life and everything around them, and made them realize things about themselves, their relationships, and life as a whole. They also disclose the activities they do in order to keep themselves occupied while at home.
Alyssa Muhlach, who portrays Doc Pia Dela Paz came into the picture not to join the family in their discussion, but to show how she prepared the Pantawid na Fruit Basket, which includes apples, oranges, and lemons, that was given to the family of an avid Pamilya Ko avid viewer.
Capping off the sixth episode, each members of the Mabunga Fam – Fernan (Joey Marquez), Luz (Sylvia Sanchez), Chico (JM de Guzman), Beri (Kiko Estrada), Apol (Kid Yambao), Persi (Jairus Aquino), Peachy (Maris Racal), Lemon (Kira Balinger), Cherry (Mutya Orquia), and Pongky (Raikko Mateo) – delivered their short yet hearty messages for their dear “Ka-Fruit Salad” and their takeaways from today’s episode.
“Pamilya KoWentuhan” airs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5pm on OKS.abs-cbn.com.
