A new family will be joining ABS-CBN’s lineup and they are packed with both good looks as well as talent! The Mabunga boys are set to make their first appearance on Pamilya Ko this coming September. But before that, they dropped by Kapamilya Chat to introduce themselves.
Meet the cast]
“Pinaka masunurin sa lahat ng utos ni nanay,” Kim Yambao described his character, Apol. This was due to the fact that he was raised alone by their mother while their father worked abroad. The one closest to their parents, however, is Persi who is played by Jairus Aquino. He is metrosexual but everyone else mostly assumes that he is gay. On the other hand, Kiko Estrada revealed that his character Beri is the black sheep of the Mabungas. “Sobrang hirap po. Good boy tayo sa totoong buhay,” he shared about his portrayal.
Raikko Mateo will be bringing to life Pongky. He is the precious bunso and math wizard. JM De Guzman will be taking on Chico, the oldest and everyone’s kuya. At the head of the family is Joey Marquez’s character, Fernan. He will do everything for his children and will make mistakes to cause problems. But they will try to solve everything out because that is what family does.
Making the decision
Marquez was quick to say yes to this project because he could not help but notice the story’s similarities to his personal life, “Sabi ko nga, ito ba’y galing sa istorya ko?” JM was also drawn to this teleserye because of the promising plot. “Alam naman natin maganda ‘yung ginagawa nilang [RGE Drama Unit] material para sa Kapamilya natin,” he stated.
It was the ensemble that attracted Kiko to the show. So, he did not think twice to surround himself with the best in show business. “’Pag napapasama ka sa mga magaling, sana mahawaan ka nila ng galing,” he explained. On the other hand, the Hashtag member and child star both revealed that JM is their idol.
Relatable content
Love, support and loyalty were some of the words the Mabunga boys used to describe the word family. They will be highlighting these qualities amidst dealing with all the problems that may come their way. All these ups and downs are what viewers can expect to learn from as well as relate to.
Kid shared from personal experience that the parents’ conflict can deeply affect the children as well, especially when sides are formed. Marquez brought up how love is not always enough because this emotion alone cannot put food on the table. Kiko talked about how rivalry among siblings are inevitable. Everyone has their own identity and path in life. But Jairus reasoned that a family has to stick together no matter what, “At the end of the day, kailangan magkaisa kasi pamilya kayo.”
