Fans would agree that Maris Racal’s performance on Pamilya Ko has been one of her best, so far. Her tandem with JC de Vera, dubbed as “PeaNat”, even became a huge hit to the viewers. But how would she rate her previous acting performances?

Even before her first ever acting role, Maris already gave fans a sneak peek of her talent while inside Kuya’s house. During Pinoy Big Brother All In, the housemates took on a challenge where the boys acted with Bea Alonzo and the girls acted with Paulo Avelino. “I can’t believe it, sa harap ni Paulo Avelino. Alam mo ‘yung fake na fake talaga kasi ang tinis ng boses,” Maris reacted. She could not help but cringe at her younger self. To be fair, it was her first time and she was a rookie. So, she gave herself four points.
For her performance on the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode “Bottled Water,” she earned a six. The Kapamilya star noticed that she was talking too fast and recalled feeling too conscious of her environment. “Parang nagmamadali ako sa eksena. Hindi ko ninamnam masyado ‘yung scene,” she commented. Although, aside from being a rookie, this was also because it was about to rain and so they had to end the shoot fast.
Meanwhile, her appearance in the MMK episodes “Toga” and “Casa” scored nine points. “Toga” is one her personal favorites because of a crying scene that she shot in one take. “Proud na proud ako d’yan, wala akong mali,” she said. In the end, this was the project that made her realize how much she loved drama. If she could recreate the scene now, she would make some changes. But given her experience at the time, she is satisfied with the outcome.
As for “Casa”, Maris recalled giving her absolute best, especially during the rape scene. Before this episode, she struggled in a previous MMK appearance. “Hindi ako nakaiyak. Hindi ako nakaarte,” she remembered. So, when the Kapamilya star was given another chance with a role on “Casa”, she promised to prove herself. Luckily, all her efforts paid off because she was later nominated for an EdukCircle Award.
