One of the most revered legends in the industry is the late King of Philippine Movies a.k.a. ‘Da King’ Fernando Poe, Jr., or simply, FPJ. He made films that gripped us with exhilarating action and touched our hearts with his moving and resonating portrayals. Aside from the greatness he showed in doing his beloved craft, he also exhibited compassion and kindness to many people. He became an inspiration to many until his death in December 2004.
Now, FPJ’s legacy as an artist continues. Until now, his influence still echoes and his works are still celebrated. Therefore, to mark his 80th birth anniversary, the Mabunga boys of the upcoming Kapamilya teleserye titled Pamilya Ko reenact his famous valiant roles and utter his most unforgettable lines from some of his most remarkable films.
It’s Showtime’s Hashtag Kid Yambao goes first, trying to demonstrate FPJ’s boldness from the movie Batang Quiapo in 1986 saying: “Mamili ka, ihahagis kita papalabas ng pinto o ihuhulog kita jan sa bintana?”
Jairus Aquino follows, giving us a sly act of FPJ’s iconic line in the film titled “Isang Bala Ka Lang” in 1983 that says, “‘Wag mong sabihing malakas ka! ‘Wag mong sabihing marami kang tauhan! At ‘wag mo ring sabihing marami kang salapi. Pare-pareho lang tayo. Isang bala ka lang!”
JM De Guzman shows his best FPJ act by delivering a line from the film “Santiago” in 1970 saying: “Hindi ako tumatakas, tumalikod ako sa isang pakikipaglaban na walang katuturan --- isang digmaan na walang ibang biktima kundi ang mga taong walang malay.”

Joey Marquez vigorously delivers FPJ’s striking line from the film “Iyo ang Tondo, Kanya ang Cavite” in 1986 that says, “Kung sa Cavite, ‘di ka nagsisimba, dito sa Tondo magsisimba ka nang may bulak sa ilong.”
