From 2012 to 2014, Be Careful With My Heart brought us the story of Maya (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Ser Chief (Richard Yap). But all of this was only possible because Maya made a life changing decision for her family. As the eldest child, she took it upon herself to try and find a better job in Manila. This meant that they will have to part ways. Still, it was all worth it, if it meant being able to help her loved ones through problems.
In 2016’s Be My Lady, Phil (Daniel Matsunaga) caused many hardships for Pinang (Erich Gonzales). Yet, as Phil witnessed what it is like to be part of family and have song numbers all together, his heart softened. In the end, a love blossomed between the two.
The Greatest Love and The Good Son were both riddled with drama. One faced the consequences of Alzheimer’s, while the other dealt with murder. At the end of the day, however, they managed to survive all the challenges because they had a reliable support system. More importantly, those tough times only made their bond stronger.
Meanwhile, Playhouse showcased an old family, a new family as well as a family starting over again. Throughout its run, they never failed to highlight the core beliefs that begin at home such as forgiveness. So, despite the problems that came their way, they always had a reason to keep smiling.
