With the growing popularity of the video-sharing mobile app Tiktok, people from different parts of the world and from various walks of life and ages are absolutely going crazy about it and have turned into instant “Tiktokers”.
Just like here in the Philippines, not only ordinary Pinoys are into it, but our beloved celebrities as well! Our social media feeds are since then bombarded with videos from the said app showing its users showcasing the skills they’ve got and taking on various challenges.
And, undeniably, one of the most trending challenges nowadays is the “Barbie Dance Challenge”, which audio was taken from the viral video of two young Filipino boys unboxing the gift they received last Christmas. The high-pitched shriek of one of them upon the sight of the Barbie doll amused and resonated to the netizens, giving birth to a dance craze.
A lot of netizens already uploaded their “Barbie Dance Challenge” videos online, and among the latest personalities to get struck by the bug were the Pamilya Ko cast!
On her Instagram page, Kira Balinger, who stars as Lemon, posted recently a video of the whole Mabunga Family enthusiastically taking on the fun challenge that has already raked in more than 200 thousand views as of this writing.
As we watch the 15-second video, veteran thespians Sylvia Sanchez and Joey Marquez were able to prove that they could keep pace with their millennial and Gen Z colleagues as they showed off their moves.
Cladded in a hospital gown and with a bandage wrapped around his head, JM de Guzman unabashedly danced alongside his younger sisters on the show – Maris Racal, Kira Balinger, and Mutya Orquia – who were ones teaching them the steps.
Meanwhile, unlike their Tatay Fernan, Kuya Chico, and bunso Pongky (Raikko Mateo), the three other Mabunga Boys – Kiko Estrada, Kid Yambao, and Jairus Aquino – opted to stay behind the group because they were either unfamiliar with the challenge or they were just shy for the netizens to see their feminine sides.
Through this fun video, Mabunga Family only attested that they’ll always be ready to support each other in their respective pursuits, may it be a life-long ambition or a simple Tiktok challenge. Continue showing your love for them by watching Pamilya Ko, weeknights before TV Patrol.
