2023 marks Gary Valenciano’s 40th anniversary in showbusiness, and he got to celebrate this milestone with a bang! 

The OPM icon kicked off the festivities on ASAP Natin ‘To last Sunday, April 16. The long-running noontime variety show put together a half-hour musical extravaganza just for him— a fitting tribute to a man who spent half of his career as one of the show’s mainstays. 

Gary took the ASAP Natin ‘To stage with his peers and many of the up-and-coming young artists he’s mentored over the years. Together, they are streat viewers to special renditions of his best-loved recordings.

Kapamilyas, Kapatids, and mga ka-A2Z probably know these songs by heart, but many appreciated the vocal collaborations produced by the segment’s music arranger Mon Faustino. Even those who have been following Gary for some time were pleasantly surprised by what he and his co-stars prepared. He also renewed his contract with the network this month! So 2023 also marks the inspirational icon’s 20th year with ABS-CBN with yet another milestone, the recording of "Kapalaran", a cover of the Rico J. Puno classic and the theme song of the number one teleserye on television and online, Coco Martin’s Batang Quiapo.

However, the tribute is just the beginning of what Mr. Pure Energy has in store for his fans. He’s pulling out all the stops to make his 40th year in showbiz one to remember. 

First, he’s set to release a book chronicling his journey in the entertainment industry. Gary is also working on an inspirational album that promises to lift listeners’ spirits when they need it most. He also has amazing duet collaborations with Gloc 9, Keiko, Julie Ann San Jose, Lea Salonga, and RJ de la Fuente to name a few on the pipeline.

But music isn’t all Gary has up his sleeve. He’ll also appear at at an event for the Department of Tourism in Burbank, California, on April 22. 

Gary is presently doing his mental health advocacy project Face 2 Face campus visits of over 50 schools where he connects with the youth and inspires them to pursue their dreams. 

What’s more, for those who want to get up close and personal with him, his team at Manila Genesis is organizing a Fans’ Day in the second quarter of this year as well as a provincial tour. 

And if you can't get enough of Gary on social media, this will make you happy. He's finally on TikTok, sharing even more content with his fans. From behind-the-scenes looks at his work to lighthearted clips and serious reflections on faith, the music icon brings his trademark energy and positivity to this new platform.

Moreover, Gary will hit the concert stage abroad once more in September and October taking him to cities across Canada and the US. He’s also set to cap his 40th year in showbiz with the Pure Energy concert in 2024.

With so many exciting activities planned, it's clear that Gary's 40th year in showbiz will be one for the books.
