Indie pop-alternative band Nameless Kids plays on the newfound culture of "soft launching" someone special in their new single “Sa ’yo (Ang Mundo),” which will be available on streaming platforms this Friday (Apr. 21).
Nameless Kids is a five-piece band consisting of members Nhiko Sabiniano, Kyle Perry, Tati De Mesa, Kim Allen, and Imay Alconaba. The band was formed in 2019 and since then has earned numerous accolades including Best Performance of a New Group Recording Artist for their debut single "Outlaws" at the 34th Awit Awards and Nylon Manila’s Big, Bold, Brave Awards.
Nameless Kids is a five-piece band that started as three. Nhiko Viktor Sabiniano (keyboards/vocals) is an
illustrator/graphic artist who came from a reality TV show and started studying music production. Kyle Perry (guitar) is a model/artist who used to do freestyle rapping as a kid in the streets of Okinawa, Japan. Jason de Mesa (bass) grew up with music all his life, especially because he’s the son of one of OPM’s biggest legends. Kim Allen (vocals) has been a solo singer-songwriter with songs on different music platforms such as Soundcloud before joining NK while Imay Alconaba rounds off the band on drums.
The band has also earned its cred in the indie music circuit playing alongside the likes of Sandwich, Cheats, Party Pace, Juicebox, Ysanygo, Leanne and Naara, Carousel Casualties, and Bita and the Botflies.
The upbeat love song “Sa 'Yo (Ang Mundo)” —the band’s first Tagalog love-themed track—talks about soft launching or the subtle way of introducing a partner without making a formal announcement. Through this single, the band pays tribute to those who have finally found the courage to express their feelings to the world.
Last year, Nameless Kids performed at the Araneta Coliseum following the feature of their songs in the official soundtrack of the hit series He’s Into Her. They also collaborated with fellow ABS-CBN Music artist Jeremy G for their first Tagalog song “Life’s A Beach” which became the theme song for the iWantTFC series Beach Bros. Following its success, they released the single “Hotel Runs” which marked a new chapter for the band as they stepped into a darker and bolder sound.
