Recently, Janella Salvador surprised netizens when she introduced her two pet snakes Versace and Valentino by posting photos of them on Instagram.
In early December, she uploaded a set of photos playing with Versace and wrote in the caption, “Hello, world. Meet Versace, my 5-month old baby girl.” A few days after, she posted photos of Valentino, a yellow ball python, and captioned it, “Because two is better than one? Welcoming this baby to my zoo. His name is Valentino (see what I did there?)”, which seemed to be alluding to her role in the upcoming television remake of the Pinoy comic series Darna.
This was a few weeks after it was officially announced that she’s going to be the newest iconic supervillain Valentina, who was known for having a den of snakes as her crowning glory, in the highly anticipated Darna: The TV Series. Thus, it can be said that this is her way of preparing for exciting new role.
But prior to welcoming those slinky creatures to their family, avid followers of Janella are probably well-aware that she has two furbabies that she loves so much – her dog Maximus, an Alaskan Malamute, and her cat Bandit, an Exotic Shorthair.
And she’s indeed one proud furmom to them, as she loves to share her bonding moments with them or simply her beloved pets’ adorable moments, which never fail to delight us. Aside from being her receiver of warm cuddles, these two have become her stress-reliever as she considers them her “happy pill” whenever she is going through a rough patch.
In her Magandang Buhay guesting in 2019, Janella confessed how she recovered from depression. Having experienced her fair share of low points, she knew that last year was one of her worst.
“Hindi lang kasi isang beses na may pinagdaanan ako. But last year was one of the worst. Actually, this year lang ako nakabangon talaga. May magandang nangyari kasi sa’kin. God spoke to me in such a beautiful way,” she professed.
At a time when she built walls around her and she needed someone who would be there to give her some picker-upper, she realized how God works through the people around her, which totally amazed her.
However, it was not only her friends who helped her cope up, but her beloved furbabies as well. Being a self-confessed “cat person”, she imparted how it makes her feel incomplete if there’s no animal at their home. She’s amazed how animals are able to sense if their furparents are going through hard times and give them the affection and consolation that they need through their own, little ways.
