After almost five months of successfully piercing our hearts and leaving us to tears with its stirring narrative that keeps us glued to our televisions every primetime weeknight, Ngayon at Kailanman is now nearing its finale.
Within that span, we absolutely fell in love with the love-hate relationship of the affluent and strait-laced company heir Inno Cortes and impoverished yet gumptious aspiring jewelry maker Eva Mapendo, portrayed by reel-to-real loveteam Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto.
Just like any love story we have witnessed on and off the screen, they started out as enemies after his happy-go-lucky half-brother (which he still doesn’t know) Oliver (Jameson Blake) hired her to be his girlfriend and Inno doubted her real intentions to him. But that only changed after he found out the truth and their paths regularly crossed when she applied at their jewelry company and her designs were used illegally by their mom Stella (Alice Dixson) in their newest collection.
As she entered the life of the Cortes family, to which his biological father Rodrigo (TJ Trinidad) came from, her life began to get complicated. With all the hardships she went through, her family and friends have been her constant cheerers and shoulder to cry on.
However, her and her family’s life had a big turn when her biological mom, Rebecca (Iza Calzado), came into the picture. Initially, she exuded a mysterious aura to everyone as she introduced herself as a “balikbayan” and used her fortunes in avenging the death of her husband Rodrigo and making the Cortes Family’s life miserable.
As their worlds turned upside down – with the Corteses became impoverished after Stella got imprisoned while the Mapendos are experiencing a luxurious life with the help of Rebecca – conflicts began to ensue between our beloved sweethearts that resulted to their heartbreaking breakup.
Now that Eva and Inno are back in each other’s arms, will Oliver continue his pursuit of tearing them apart? Is there a possibility for Stella and Rebecca to reconcile and live harmoniously? Let’s find out by watching the remaining episodes of Ngayon at Kailanman, weeknights after FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on Primetime Bida.
