For several months, the heartwarming daytime series titled Nang Ngumiti ang Langit has inspired us all to love our families even more amid all their imperfections. Like how it has moved us, the cast of the show are here to tell us how their own characters have touched their hearts by all the lessons they have learned.
One common thing that each of them learned is the importance of loving our own God-given families. The show taught them the value of respect, humility, forgiveness and to keep on fighting amidst all the challenges that life brings us. Miguel Vergara, who played Joseph Dimagmaliw, shared how much his character taught him to love his parents more. Moi Bien, who portrayed the funny yet lovable Ate Barbie, said that she learned to be more courageous because of her character. Their experiences on the set taught her to be more caring, to appreciate others more and to have patience, she added.
RK Bagatsing, who brought the character Michael Villaluna to life, realized that we cannot give unconditional love if we don’t have respect towards people and a heart that is willing to listen and forgive. He also told a line from his character that truly made a mark on him, which went:
“’Pag may mga tao sa paligid natin na nagagalit o punung-puno ng galit ang puso, do’n natin sila mas kailangan mahalin. Para in the end, malay natin, matutunan din nila ‘yong pinapakita natin sa kanila”
One interesting fact RK further discussed was how he doubted himself if he could give justice to his role when the project was offered to him, because he personally didn’t know the feeling of being a father yet. Nevertheless, he shared how grateful he is with how the production staff, especially their directors, helped him in his role. Though he said that he has no plans of having his own child yet , RK shared that he saw how wonderful fatherhood was after portraying Michael.
Sophia Reola, who portrayed the lead character Mikmik, shared how much she will miss everyone she worked with in the show. Her character taught her not to let greediness take over her heart ever. From her Ate Shaina, Sophia said she learned to have more focus on set by prioritizing to prepare for the scenes first before chatting or playing with other people at their taping.
Krystal Mejes and Heart Ramos, who played Amber and Britney respectively, stressed how they will miss Cristine Reyes is their mother Katrina, and the whole production staff who always push them to give their best performance in every take.
Meanwhile, Shaina Magdayao, who took on the role of Grace Andrada, spoke about having no regrets in accepting the role. Although one of her main deciding factors was to work with director FM Reyes, guiding or mainly being a loving ‘ate’ to the child stars in the show gave her pleasure, given how greatly she could relate to them as an actress who started in the industry at 6 years old.
Keempee De Leon, who personified the character Benjie Dimagmaliw, also imparted how thankful he was for having an unforgettable journey in the show. Enzo Pineda who played James Villaluna, expressed how blessed he is of his co-actors and the great development the show gave him as an actor. His partner in the show, Michelle Vito, who portrayed Anna, told us her first impression of Enzo aside from the life lessons she learned too in the show.
Don’t miss the final episodes of Nang Ngumiti ang Langit, all this week before It’s Showtime.
