In the many times she would break into tears on screen, leaving us teary eyed as well, watching taking on her breakthrough role of Mikmik in Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit, who would’ve imagined that Sophia Reola actually feared to cry as cameras would roll.
In her interview on Magandang Buhay last March, Sophia revealed that when she was starting her career as a child actress, she feared to do dramatic scenes because she thought it was difficult to cry if she was not spanked. For that reason, Sophia would rather choose to appear in the comedy gag show Goin’ Bulilit.
Nevertheless, Sophia’s stint on Goin’ Bulilit improved her acting skills. With this, her mommy Stephanie said in the Magandang Buhay interview, Sophia became more versatile in her craft, preparing her to take on dramatic roles.

Since then, Sophia would portray young versions of leading ladies on teleseryes. She played as the young Alyana (Yassi Pressman) on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, the young Vida (Sofia Andres) on Pusong Ligaw, and the young Eva (Julia Barretto) on Ngayon at Kailanman.
With these impressive performances, Sophia got her biggest break when she bagged the coveted lead role, Mikmik, in Nang Ngumiti ang Langit. She had since touched our hearts with her moving portrayal each weekday morning since its premiere last March.
