For months,
Nang Ngumiti ang Langit taught us many valuable lessons about life. Aside from entertaining us with their heartfelt scenes, Mikmik (Sophia Reola) and her family spoke wise words that taught us how we could achieve a better version of ourselves. Before we finally say our goodbye to the show, let us review the top 10 lessons we learned from them in
Nang Ngumiti ang Langit. 1. Never be afraid to stand up for what is right. When Ella (Kaye Abad) learned that Mikmik gave her cake to a classmate who bullies her, Ella told Mikmik to get back what is rightfully hers. She tells her daughter that picking up a fight is wrong. Nevertheless, she tells Mikmik that she should never be afraid to fight for the right thing.
2. Let go of the pain so happiness can prosper. One night, Ella found Mikmik sad over the news that a close neighbor died. Ella explained to Mikmik that in life, there would always be gains and losses. Thus, we must learn to accept and try our best to move forward with the hope of a better future.
3. Everyone deserves a second chance. A person shouldn’t be defined by his or her mistakes. Knowing that Michael (RK Bagatsing) was imprisoned for many years, Mikmik freaked out when she got lost with him at a forest. However, when Michael begged her not to judge him for his criminal record, Mikmik realized that one shouldn’t be deprived to have a second chance in becoming a better person.
4. Make efforts to bridge the gap. When she realized that it was only Katrina (Cristine Reyes) who wasn’t nice to her in the Salvador mansion, Mikmik asked her foster mother Ruth (Matet De Leon) what she should do to make Katrina like her. No matter how cruel Katrina is, Mikmik told Ruth that she still believes Katrina would change someday.
5. Always tell the truth During the interview of Mikmik’s adoption process, she bravely spoke the truth. She stated that although she loves her grandmother Divina (Pilar Pilapil), Mikmik begged the social worker not to let Divina legally adopt her because she knows her father is alive.
6.
Even though it is difficult, forgiveness is still a virtue As they were reunited, Michael explained to Mikmik why there is a never-ending chaos in their family. When he told Mikmik that adults sometimes find it hard to forgive, her daughter reminded him how we could help others forgive by being kinder to them or by forgiving them first.
7. Parents will not be forever beside their children. They should teach them how to live life well on their own with love in their hearts. Being a first-time father, Michael needed some advice on how he must raise Mikmik. Fortunately, Ella came to his dream reminding him the unchangeable truth that he won’t always be by Mikmik’s side. Therefore, he must teach Mikmik how to live life to the fullest on her own and allow himself to learn new things from his daughter too.
8. Family must always help each other, no matter what. Despite being aware of Divina’s hate towards her, Mikmik selflessly handed her grandmother what she wanted to keep the Salvador family wealth—the marriage certificate of Ella’s parents. Mikmik helped Divina acquire it, even though it meant that she might inherit nothing, proving that her grandmother’s love is the only thing she’s after and not the Salvador’s riches.
9. Accept and love your God-given family When Katrina made Amber (Krystal Mejes) believe the lie that Michael is her father, Amber struggled to accept not having the same father as her sister Britney (Heart Ramos). Hearing about this, Mikmik advised Amber not to focus on questioning the heavens why she was born into them, and just learn how to love the family that she has instead.
10. Happiness is a choice. Raised by her mom as a spoiled brat, Amber loved to reject people. And, the more she did that, the more she felt unhappy. One day, when they were still living in Michael’s house, Mikmik advised Amber that she must stop pushing everyone away from her life so she won’t be miserable all her days.
Indeed, these are the lessons that we should all keep in our hearts as we go through our everyday lives. Watch the moments where the characters of
Nang Ngumiti ang Langit teach those lessons to us, here in this Kapamilya Toplist.
