Being in the industry since she was just five years old, we have certainly witnessed how Jane Oineza has grown and matured as a human and an actress. And from simply playing the younger versions of main characters, as well as supporting roles in the series and movies that she starred in, she is now reaping the rewards of her hardwork over the past score for she is finally bestowed major roles in the recent years.

Just like in the much-awaited afternoon soap opera Nag-aapoy Na Damdamin, wherein she will play not only one, but two different characters, namely Olivia Buencamino and Claire Salazar. But before we get to see her another sure-fire performance, let’s revisit first her remarkable acting stints through the years in this episode of Kapamilya Spotlight!

Her showbiz career started when she was 5, instantly endearing us with her child star charm as Arabella Crisostomo in the classic ABS-CBN series Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan in 2001. It was succeeded by her gig in the sitcom Bida Si Mister, Bida Si Misis as Jackie, the adorable daughter of Maricel Soriano and Cesar Montano’s characters Mary and Buboy.

By 2003, she played the young Arabella Grace Garcia (Kristine Hermosa) in Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas and had her Maalaala Mo Kaya debut by depicting the young Julie Vega in the “Unan” episode, which chronicled the life story of later “Soap Opera Princess.”

She then transformed into a mermaid in the 2004 iconic fantasy drama Marina, as she portrayed the younger counterpart of the titular character portrayed by Claudine Barretto. After appearing in the “Ilaw Ng Poste” episode of MMK, she became part of the kidserye Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit and of the long-running children’s sketch comedy show Goin’ Bulilit as one of its pioneer cast members the following year.

Jane’s stint in Goin’ Bulilit indeed paved the way for her to score more projects in the years to come. She was able to exhibit her dramatic prowess in the 2007 afternoon drama Prinsesa ng Banyera as the young version of Kristine Hermosa’s character Maningning Burgos. A year after, she’s able to show her other facets in the live-action fantaserye Kung Fu Kids as Moira “Moi” Ocampo and in the soap opera Ligaw Na Bulaklak.

She went on to portray the young counterparts of Kapamilya actresses in the next teleseryes she starred in, namely, Katorse  (2009) as young Elena "Nene" Reyes (Erich Gonzalez), Magkano Ang Iyong Dangal (2010) as young Alona Sandoval (Bettina Carlos), and Reputasyon (2011) as young Catherine Villamayor (Aiko Melendez).

Amidst starring in a series of projects in the previous years, Jane indeed shocked us when she decided to join the Pinoy Big Brother All In in 2014. And it was apparently a great move as we didn’t only get to know the real her behind the roles she had portrayed, but it also brought her more projects, despite not being able to make it to the Big 4 nor becoming the Big Winner.

After her controversial PBB stint, she was tapped to headline the 2015 afternoon soap opera Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita as Corrine Natividad. It was her first project in a major role and with her PBB All In ex-housemates Loisa Andalio and Joshua Garcia.

In 2016, she had a special participation in the long-running action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as young Flora Borja (Susan Roces), and in the afternoon family drama The Greatest Love as the teenage Amanda Alegre (Dimples Romana).

We then witnessed Jane’s notable transformation in the 2017 series Precious Hearts Romances Presents Araw at Gabi as she took on the role of Amber Distrito, marking her “graduation” from teeny-bopper roles. The following year, she went on to star in another Precious Hearts Romances Presents series titled Los Bastardos, playing the feisty Gigi Octavio.

By 2021, she was cast in the inspirational series Huwag Kang Mangamba as supporting character Emily Abuel, who disguised as Nurse Rose Aguilar in order to exact revenge at her estranged father Oscar Tantiangco (Art Acuña). The following year, she further astounded us with her portrayal of Diane Riagon, in The Broken Marriage Vow, the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean drama.

Jane then had the chance to fulfill her dream role when she became part of Cattleya Killer, the six-episode series that serves as the first-ever project of ABS-CBN International Production with Amazon Prime Video. She also had a special participation in the controversial series Dirty Linen as the young counterpart of veteran actress Tessie Tomas’ character Doña Cielo Fiero.

She also went on to star in MMK episodes through the years. Her compelling portrayal of Nene, a teenage girl recurrently raped by her stepfather, in the notable “Manika” episode received Best Actress nominations from various award-giving bodies, namely, 10th Golden Screen TV Awards, 26th PMPC Star Awards for TV, and New York Festivals - International TV and Film all in 2012.

She went on to star in other noteworthy episodes, such as “Silver Medal” (2016), wherein she depicted Pinay Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, and “Picture” and “Kotse-Kotsehan” in 2017, in which she played the role of Aisah, who got embroiled in the kidnapping case of her sister.

Furthermore, she also appeared in several episodes of the legal drama anthology Ipaglaban Mo and in the documentary program Paano Kita Mapapasalamatan?, as well as in the iWantTFC original series “Project Feb 14” and “Click Like Share: Unseen.”

And beginning July 25, we are about to see Jane’s another sure-fire performance as dual roles Olivia Buencamino and Claire Salazar in the afternoon drama Nag-aapoy na Damdamin, which serves as one of the first collaborative projects of ABS-CBN and TV5.
