After It’s Showtime’s Hashtag Zeus Collins became the first millionaire of this new season of Minute to Win It, Kapamilya comedian Eric Nicolas followed suit by winning another million pesos by accomplishing the tough “Double Up” challenge.
In just as quick as one minute, the “Double Up” challenge requires the player to shoot two ping-pong balls at the same time inside the cup he/she is holding, after first letting it bounce once on the floor together. The player has to successfully do it for five times to gain the one-million-peso grand prize.
Before he plunged into the challenge, Eric first looked back and talked to his disabled brother. Eric apologized to his brother when he asked him to throw away the wheelchair he’s sitting on. While looking to his brother’s eyes and pointing at him, Eric promises to buy him an electric wheelchair, if he will bring home the 1 million pesos.
After the touching moment of promising his brother a new electric wheelchair, Eric briefly asked for host Luis Manzano’s intercession for him as he does the challenge.
When the clock started, Eric didn’t waste any second and faced the challenge with much focus. Although he didn’t manage to accomplish one cup in the first ten seconds, Eric finished one while he still got 46 seconds on the clock. He was able to do it for two more times after, but Eric had difficulties again in doing it for the fourth time. After many failed bounces and catches, Eric was able to accomplish his fourth cup while having 14 seconds left on his clock. Finally, while he still got 7 seconds left before the time is up, Eric victoriously finished the challenge by accomplishing his fifth and last cup.
Knowing that he just won a great amount of money for him and his family, Eric rolled on the floor crying tears of joy, then he went to his disabled brother. Together, they shared a tight hug to express the overflowing joy they are feeling.
