Edu Manzano may be portraying the harsh, cold, and demanding father Emilio in the hit primetime series Marry Me, Marry You, but the veteran actor is totally different in real life, especially with how he is to his four equally good-looking and talented children Luis, Addie, Enzo, and Diego who he considers as his “blessings” and “best friends.”
Whenever he’s not the stern and ill-tempered father in the hit teleserye, he is a doting and jolly dad to them, who never fails to show how much he loves them, how proud he is of their achievements, and how delighted he is everytime they spend time together.
In an Instagram photo showing his three eldest kids, Edu posted it with a heartfelt caption: “3 of my most favorite people in the whole world. Looking, talking or just being w/ them makes you realize that you did something right!!!”
Well, we could imagine how jubilant he was at the sight of the three of them sharing the stage for the first time in 2013 when Addie and Enzo made a surprise appearance on television during the birthday celebration of their Kuya on his game show Minute To Win It.
As we all know, Luis, who is now hailed as one of the most in-demand and undisputed television host like him, is his son with ex-wife actress-politician Vilma Santos-Recto. Meanwhile, Addie and Enzo are his children to his former partner Rina Samson and are all currently based in New York City.
Unlike their Kuya Luis who has a skyrocketing career in the local entertainment industry, the veteran actor forbade his younger kids from joining the complicated world of show business, and even refused offers, because he wanted them to focus on and finish their studies. Thus, it was a surprise when we saw his beautiful unica hija as one of the models of a local skin care brand and in a previous stint as one of the gorgeous hosts of “Upfront” on ABS-CBN Sports and Action. His youngest Diego, meanwhile, is a high school football star.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Edu expressed how proud he is of all his children. “To see them as successful, that’s the most rewarding for me. I was able to put them to good schools. But I guess a father’s job is never done even now that they’re grown up,” he said.
Despite their modern family set-up, hectic schedules, varied endeavors, and being separated by thousands of miles, the four of them are still able to form an indestructible bond with one another as seen on the photos they upload on their respective Instagram accounts.
#FamilyGoals, indeed!
