Throughout her three decades in the local entertainment scene, Cherry Pie Picache has already cemented her reputation as one of the formidable and top-caliber thespians we have in the country. Ever since her career took off in the 1990s, we have seen her portray various roles that ranges from being an endearing supporting protagonist to being a loathsome kontrabida.
She might have gained a lot of children on-screen through the years, but there would only be one in her heart in real-life – her unico hijo Jose Antonio Picache-Tria, or simply Nio.
It’s been the two of them who are constantly present in each other’s life. They might be both busy with their respective endeavors – with Cherry Pie in her career in show business, while her son in his studies and in his career as a promising tennis player. But this admirable mother-and-son tandem is still able to allot a portion of their hectic schedules for their bonding moments and to show their support for one another.
While raising and getting along with teenage kids seemed to be difficult for other parents, the actress and self-confessed ‘cool mom’ divulged her secret in her interview in Magandang Buhay. She said she is able to establish rapport with her 17-year-old multi-achiever son through their strong trust, consistently open communication, and, of course, their unwavering love and support for each other.

As she accompanied him in his tournaments in-and-out of the country, she recounted during her fun conversation with the King of Talk in Tonight With Boy Abunda being involved in a few heated altercations with other parents and/or coaches as she tried to her child from any kind of discrimination.

Well, just like how Cherry Pie is in real life, Amelia would also be a ‘not-so-regular mom’ for she’s willing to sacrifice for her son. It might be impossible for her to do it in reality, but the actress is definitely eager to do everything for her ‘forever love’, Nio.
