It’s going to be a sappy and refreshing sound trip as we listen to Janine Gutierrez and Paulo Avelino’s couple playlist in Marry Me, Marry You.
The Marry Me, Marry You soundtrack is a compilation of upbeat and light music interpreted by the new generation of OPM stars. The main theme song, “Marry Me, Marry You” is composed by Star Music’s Jonathan Manalo and performed by Asia’s Pop Heartthrob Darren Espanto.
The song matches the series’ theme that marriage is a package deal. “Tatanggapin mo ‘yung taong pakakasalan mo, ‘yung makakasama niya sa buhay. Lahat ng mga mahal niya sa buhay, kasama ‘yun sa mamahalin mo,” said Jonathan.
Darren added that his favorite parts are the chorus because it’s catchy and the second verse for its inspiring message about true love. “If it’s true love, mamahalin ka talaga ng isang tao beyond your imperfections if that person is the right one for you.” Darren is excited and honored to be the voice behind the soundtrack “of one of the biggest shows this year.”
Joining Darren is Idol Philippines champion Zephanie Dimaranan to interpret the song “One Day” which she described as a tale of longing. “Whenever I listen to the song, nafe-feel ko po ‘yung feeling ng naiiwan pero sa bandang dulo, nandoon pa rin yung hope.”
The young songstress said listeners would realize how one person could shape their perspective about love, “Merong mga taong parte ng buhay natin na magtuturo sa atin ng pagmamahal na babaunin natin sa buong buhay natin at hindi natin makakalimutan.”
Viral singer-songwriter Angela Ken lends her voice to “Sila Pa Rin,” which she finished writing within two days. The words of Angela will inspire listeners to appreciate their family and everyone who embraces them unconditionally. “Sobrang saya ko po kasi another milestone for me and another opportunity na binigay sa akin. Nakakataba po ng puso dahil pinagkatiwalaan nila ako,” she thanked Star Music, Dreamscape Entertainment, and ABS-CBN.
Anji Salvacion’s “Buo” will make listeners want to experience unconditional love and embrace the imperfections of the person they want to keep forever. Anji mentioned that singing a teleserye theme song is one of her biggest dreams.
There must be a piece about dreams as well and it was assigned to KD Estrada. His song “Dreams Don’t Wait” is a reminder to never give up on your dream no matter what people say. Jonathan explained that the track is important in the teleserye’s narrative, “It talks about dreams, ‘yung drive na meron ka to achieve your dreams at walang makakahadlang sa’yo.”
Sab gives the playlist Disney-ish vibes with “When It’s All Over.” “It talks about having people there with you and never being alone. Even when things are going bad, someone will be there to support you. So when it’s all over, someone is going to stay,” she related.
