Intrigued and trying to fix Tinapay Corner’s declining sales, Gabo (Enrique Gil) goes to Nueva Valencia to check on his business competitor. Gabo smears his handsome face with dirt, wears rugged clothes, and puts on a wig to disguise as a beggar and purchase two bags of Panaderia de Tony’s bestselling pan de tsalap.
He unexpectedly encounters Billy (Liza Soberano). He meets her questioning eyes. But instead of explaining his side, Gabo simply tells Billy that he is no longer the guy she met in Croatia and then he walks away. While on the way home, Gabo thinks about Billy. He reminds himself that it wasn’t yet the right time to tell her the truth.
Later, Gabo reluctantly attends a ‘meeting’ held in a romantic set-up. He asks his secretary to confirm the location and she says they arrived at the right place. Gabo walks further. Flowers, gleaming lights, and his photographs with a mystery woman adorn the venue. At the end of the mini gallery is a table for two and a band playing the violin.
A lady appears behind Gabo and greets him a happy anniversary. She is Rio (Katarina Rodriguez), his girlfriend. Rio initiates a kiss and embrace. In the middle of the romantic date, Rio is completely delighted as she talks about her charity drives abroad while Gabo is evidently bothered by a problem he refuses to admit. Gabo explains that a business matter is draining his energy and he doesn’t want to involve Rio in his dilemma. A supportive Rio assures Gabo that she wouldn’t mind helping him out. She embraces him. Gabo hugs her back but his face gives off traces of hesitance.
