Billy (Liza Soberano) exudes confidence as she presents her product development plans in front of Gabo (Enrique Gil) and the Tinapay Corner corporate team. Her golden idea is to re-introduce classic Filipino breads to the local market and bring it globally as well.
Gabo is instantly impressed as Billy starts off with the first proposed product which is the classic Kabayan bread with hints of chocolate flavors. But with the intent of pushing Billy to her limits, Gabo opts not to act interested. He wants to make Billy feel like a failure, so she would be pushed to back out from her position.
At the back of Billy’s mind are Anna (Shaira Opsimar)’s essential reminders of the red flags to watch out for. She sees Gabo almost touching his ear, a signal of ennui. So, she makes a way to get his attention again by filling her presentation with overflowing enthusiasm and lively gimmicks.
The tactic works well. Gabo gets secretly drawn to Billy’s idea of incorporating red dragon fruit jam to the popular Pan De Regla bread. However, still wanting to disappoint her, Gabo starts staring at nowhere and playing a stress ball with his hands. Billy recognizes these reactions as the ultimate signs of Gabo’s boredom, as told by Anna. So, she exerts a high-spirited conclusion to her talk.
The marketing team applauds Billy while Gabo sports his grumpy persona. He mocks Billy’s ideas and calls them too small-scale for the international market. Gabo rejects the proposal and stands by his opinion.
Billy recalls Anna telling her to avoid rebutting their boss’ opinion as it may only lead to trouble. But the strong-willed girl from Nueva Valencia boldly opposes Gabo to defend her insight. Billy insists that authenticity is still the secret to global competitiveness.
Then again, Gabo has the final say and his verdict is a ‘no’ for Billy. Before going out of the door, Gabo glances at Billy and hears her determination to make it better on the next try. He fills his face with guilt and then walks away.
