Our Magandang Buhay hosts are back in the studio and looking fine and fabulous as always! Since it has been three fruitful years since the show launched last 2016, Karla Estrada, Melai Cantiveros, and Jolina Magdangal continue to celebrate the show’s success, and look back on their experiences on the show and the learnings they have assimilated.
During the show, the MB momshies listened to a couple of song numbers, and tackled on how much love songs have such a strong effect on people, including themselves. Jolina and Melai shared their views on love, including Karla who thoroughly discussed her own thoughts on the matter. Karla divulged that one should always be positive and open to love, however no one is immune from its challenges. She underscored that love has many aspects and continued by saying, “Ang pag-ibig ay hindi lamang para sa isang karelasyon. Eto ay para sa inyong pamilya, anak, kaibigan, kapatid at sa audience nating ngayong umaga.” Jolina and Melai started to tease her saying that her aura is different, and it seems that she too is in love. “Feeling ko you’re in love!” Melai joked while Jolina added “Nararamdaman namin ‘yung aura mo.” And they both laughed.
Jolina pointed out that one episode with Yassi Pressman really struck her, because she could see how close the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star is to her father. She stressed that whenever they have guests that are close to their parents, it makes her realize how much hers really mean to her, to the point that she reaches out and calls them. “Tumawag ako kay Mommy and Daddy at sinasabi ko, Nami-miss ko po kayo.’ Ang layo na kasi nila sa akin eh,” she narrated. She added that there are times that she gets emotional because she misses her parents so much.
Melai also underscored that she will strive to be a better daughter, because being a mother made her appreciate her mother more. “’Nung naging momshie ako, na-realize ko ‘yung hirap pala ng mama ko, ni Mama Virgie, noong itinaguyod kami. That’s why gusto ko pang maging mabuting anak ngayon,” Melai elaborated. She believes that now is the time for her mother to enjoy, that why she spoils her from time to time and treats her with vacation trips. “I love you my mommy!” Melai said aloud, twitching her face.
Karla shared her own stories on being young and having to work to make ends meet for her family. “Ang pagiging anak ay talaga namang na-master ko ‘yan. Dahil simula’t natuto na akong kumanta at kumita ng pera, talaga ako’y naging breadwinner na,” the Kapamilya star narrated. She also recalled the days when they grew up not having much, but credits her parents for what she and her children are now. Apart from being a loving mother to Karla and her siblings, she also lauded her momshie for being hands-on with her grandchildren, and promised to do everything to take care of her. “Hangga’t nandito at malakas ako, ibibigay ko sa nanay ko ang karapat-dapat para sa kanya at sa kanya lamang,” she said teary-eyed.
The momshies were joined by Doctor Ali Gui, Relational Life Coach and Psychologist, who pointed out why it is imperative that there should be respect amongst people. “Kasi kung hindi mo kayang magbigay ng respeto sa iba, hindi mo rin kayang dapat tumangap ng respeto,” she stated. The doctor said that people should never look down on others, and that respect is the main foundation in any relationship. Dra Gui stressed that if you show respect for others, they will respect you back. “The kind of attitude you get is the kind of attitude you sent,” she explained.
Apart from respect, the specialist underlined that trust between two people is also very important. It shows how confident both sides are that they will never do anything to break each other’s trust. And once people have established respect and trust, love can now come into the picture. The doctor noted that love is just as significant as respect and trust, and urged people to have this in their lives, “Kasi mahirap mabuhay sa mundo kung hindi kayo nagmamahal,” she finally stated.
