Another day, another life lesson. Thanks to the different guest celebrities that appear on Magandang Buhay, the three momshies are always prepared to offer relevant advice for its audience. This part of their morning talk show has become commonly known as the “Pulot of the Day.” And Melai Cantiveros-Francisco is proving that language is not a problem when it comes to giving some words of wisdom.
During her visit to JeepneyTV's Showbiz Pa More, DJ Jhai Ho challenged the momshie to a translation game where she will have to interpret famous Tagalog sayings into English. But it is not just her having fun because DJ Jhai Ho will also try to do the same, but in English to Tagalog.
“Lack of blessings, in the end staring.” You must always think about the future. Learn to prioritize, save up and cherish your blessings. You do not want to end up blankly staring in the end.
“The man that never loved the language is more than the smell of the fish.” No one likes the smell of fish. Luckily, all you have to do to avoid smelling like fish is to love your language.
“Jack and poy holy holy hoy who is the winner in the heaven.” Life is all play and games, until it is time to go to heaven. If you want to be one of the winners, make sure you do not get mad.
“When the sea is very silent, you have to wait, it’s very deep.” Sometimes the water is deeper than you might assume. So, never assume that silence means yes. Always consider everyone’s feelings.
“Even if it’s very long parade, in the end you’re gonna go to the church.” No matter what happens, all you need is to have faith that you will reach your goal. For now, just try to enjoy the parade.
Curious what the original sayings are? We promise these quotes will make more sense. Check out this video to find out and play along with Melai and DJ Jhai Ho!
