There’s a saying that ‘we choose our friends not our family’, therefore it is safe to say, that it is imperative that we choose them wisely. As much as we value our family, we must remember that we are social beings who give importance to our peers. For today’s episode, Magandang Buhay hosts Melai Cantiveros, Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal had the chance to talk to Hashtag members McCoy De Leon and Charles Kieron (CK) about their friendship that stood the test of time.
McCoy and CK opened up about the kind of friendship that they have. The MB hosts were surprised to find out that just like anyone else, they too have their misunderstandings from time to time. McCoy disclosed that there was an incident when CK’s mood turned sour when he was left behind by the group but clarified that it was just a petty issue. “Nagtampo siya dahil lang dun na ‘di siya nakasamang maglakad,” he said teasingly. On the other hand, CK revealed that McCoy gets pissed off when they try to look at his phone while he is using it. “Kasi ‘pag magkakasama kami, laging naka-phone ‘yan eh. So ‘pag gusto naming kausapin, titingnan namin ‘yung phone niya, tapos binababa niya kaagad,” he pointed out.
On a more serious note, McCoy advised CK to always remember why they work as hard as they do, which is obviously to help their family. They both stressed that being family oriented is a trait that they both have in common. McCoy also emphasized that he sees CK as a younger brother, and hopes that he wouldn’t have to go through all the mistakes and struggles that he himself had to experience. “Yung mga naranasan kong hindi maganda, ayaw kong mangyari sa kanya,” McCoy explained.
The two boys also gave heartfelt messages to each other. CK thanks McCoy for always being there as a friend in spite of his busy schedule, “Nandyan ka palagi para sa amin kahit busy ka. Gumagawa ka ng paraan para maging kumpleto tayong tatlo.” Meanwhile, McCoy expressed how proud he is of CK and added, “Alam n’yo naman na may time akong willing i-sacrifice para sa inyo. At sana tumagal pa ‘yung samahan natin.”
