We work hard for many reasons. We do it to make a name for ourselves, to become successful, to help our families, and for a whole lot of other things. But sometimes it seems as if there is nothing left for us to give, because no matter how hard we try, we keep hitting bumpy roads that hold us back. The truth to the matter is, that anyone can achieve what they want, but it all depends on how much you are willing to go through in order to get it. And unfortunately, it won’t be easy.
So for today’s episode, Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal and Melai Cantiveros had a chance to talk to Idol Philippines Top 3 Zephanie Dimaranan, Lucas Garcia and Lance Busa about their life and their road to success. Vice Ganda also gave a heartfelt message to the three singers, and lauded them for what they have achieved. The Unkabogable Star gave a shout out to the momshies of Lance, Lucas and Zephanie, and thanked them for giving the world such talented individuals.
Lance Busa, who hails from Butuan City in Agusan Del Norte, performed his original song from Idol Philippines entitled “Kapit Lang”, which stunned everyone who were inside the Magandang Buhay studio. The singer never thought that he would make it as far as being the second runner up, given the fact that he was always at the bottom two in the elimination rounds. There were instances when he began to doubt himself, but what kept him going was the encouragement he garnered from people who believed in him, something that he was very grateful for. Being a performer had always been at the back of his head, but just to make sure that he had a fallback in case his singing career didn’t work out, Lance decided to explore other options and focused on his education. Since his course had something to do with tourism, his parents urged him to be a flight attendant, a job that the he didn’t close his doors to. He took a lot of exams from different schools in Manila and passed, but couldn’t get over the thought of wanting to make it in the entertainment industry. So he went for his goal and finally made it this far.
But life hasn’t always been a bed of roses for Lance, as his father suffered from a massive heart attack, but luckily survived. This incident changed his family’s lives, and urged him to want to make ends meet and give them a better life. “’Di namin alam kung saan kami kukuha ng pambayad,” he said. They reached out to relatives and different government agencies just to make their father get better. Lance also wanted to work hard to help his siblings continue with their studies.
His sister, Julia, also came to the show and spoke about how much Lance meant to them. The Magandang Buhay momshies were surprised to discover that Julia also sings and urged her to give a sample of her hidden skills. Julia always tried to be a supportive sister whenever Lance would have gigs. She underscored that once she is done with her studies, she would move to Manila to be with him again and keep him company. She turned emotional when she disclosed that it was because of Lance that she was able to continue with her schooling. “Sobrang thankful ako kasi, siya ‘yung nagbibigay ng tuition fee,” she said crying. Julia reiterated that she will assist him because she knows that it is hard for her brother to be here in Manila on his own.
