Quality over quantity of friends.
When we were young, we used to think having many friends was a cool thing but as we are starting to mature, we realize the importance of deeper connections over shallow attachments. And in our life, we only get few trusted people who we can share our dreams even our darkest secrets.
Magandang Buhay featured on its March 29 episode the stories of friendship in the face of two different generations.
Tagged as gems of Philippine entertainment industry, award-winning actress Charo Santos-Concio and the country’s Blockbuster Queen Bea Alonzo, who are also stars of the much-anticipated horror-thriller movie of the year "Eerie," opened their life in the morning program and talked about the different facets of meaningful friendship which taught them lessons in love and loyalty.
On the first part of the interview, Momshie hosts showed Bea a video of the program’s past episode in which they reenacted an iconic scene from the movie “Four Sisters in a Wedding”. Bea played the role of Bobby in the said Star Cinema film. Bea praised the acting skills of Karla Estrada, Melai Cantiveros and Jolina Magdangal.
After an entertaining icebreaker, Momshie Melai showed another video and this time, it was an interview of Bea’s boyfriend Gerald Anderson aired on Magandang Buhay last March 18 (Monday.) In the video, he was asked how he sees himself nine years from now. The Kapamilya heartthrob mentioned that he would probably have his own family with four kids. Bea reacted, “Siyempre nakakakilig na marinig. Saka nasa edad naman na kami na parang hindi na naman kami naglalaro. Kakabahan ako kung hindi siya ganun magsasalita.”
Magandang Buhay surprised the Kapamilya actress by guesting one of Bea’s closest friends, Dimples Romana.
Their friendship first bloomed when they had a chance to work together in the teleserye Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay. They also co-starred in "One More Chance" and "A Second Chance," their movies with John Lloyd Cruz.
According to Dimples, “The nice thing about our friendship is that ang daming taong lumipas, we always pick up from where we left.”
According to them, constant communication is the primary ingredient of their strong friendship. Bea is thankful to Dimples because she's always there for her, "Salamat sa pagiging genuine mo na kaibigan sa akin." Dimples also shared what she loves about Bea, “You find comfort in knowing that this person will never ever give up on you. That’s her. She just doesn’t give up.”
Dimples continued to describe her bond with Bea, “Ang friends parang mga bulaklak. Hindi mo alam kung itong rosas na ito ay will make me feel good today. But today, I need a friend who will tell me the truth. Some friends will tell you what you want to hear, but some friends will tell you what you need to hear.”
Kadenang Ginto star likened Bea to a tulip, "Bea would be a tulip because tulips are a classic, very distinct siya. Hindi siya common. "
Bea became ecstatic when she was shown a special VTR from someone she considered her biggest inspiration in entering the showbiz industry. Halik star Jericho Rosales has this message for Bea, "I am proud and honored na isa ako sa mga dahilan bakit ka nag-showbiz.... Bakit hindi na lang tayo gumawa ng project together? That would be fun."
Bea openly admitted that she's a Echo-Tin (Kristine Hermosa) fan. She has worked with Jericho in "Pacquiao The Movie" and in I Love Betty La Fea in 2008.
