They say age is just a number, not only when it comes to choosing your significant other, but even with friendships. When there is an undeniable and instant connection between two people, it won’t really matter how old one is compared to the other. And that is exactly the case between these two heartthrobs Ian Veneracion and Daniel Padilla as they talk about their unique friendship in Magandang Buhay with hosts Karla Estrada, Jolina Magndangal and Melai Cantiveros.
Over the years, viewers have fallen in love with Ian Veneracion as he graced the silver screen with his dashing looks and persona. What people ought to know as well, is that Ian is a certified adventurer, and is very much into hiking, flying planes as well as more daring ventures such as sky diving. The handsome actor elaborated that its because of his outdoor activities that he was able to overcome his fear which is heights. “Tinatakot ko ‘yung sarili ko. Matututo ka lang kung pano i–ma-manage ‘yung sarili mo, ‘yung fears mo,” he said firmly. Ian continued on and said that his children would come along to his adventures, and when they do, he makes sure that they are responsible travelers. “Hindi ko sila tini-treat na parang bata. Sila ‘yung responsible sa pag-pack nila, sa gamit nila, pati ‘yung mga ligpit-ligpit.”
All eyes were on Daniel when he arrived a little later to join Ian and the momshies. The two boys recounted their friendship started when they worked in the television series Got To Believe, where they just clicked because of their similar personalities. The two are so close that they even planned a trip together, but apparently it didn’t push through because Karla didn’t allow Daniel to go. The King Of Hearts also divulged that there are deeper and personal things that he shares with Ian, and it’s not just all shallow stuff. “Alam ni Tito hanggang ngayon ‘yung mas malalalim na pinagdadaanan ko. Siya ‘yung kinakausap ko rin tungkol dun. The veteran actor also lauded Daniel for being a responsible person and said, “Sa mga kapatid niya at sa mommy niya, ‘yung ang bagay na hinahangaan ko talaga sa kanya.”
It is safe to say that Karla trusts Daniel with his buddy Ian because the MB host mentioned that she allowed her son to ride a motorcycle because of him. When asked how she managed to conquer her fear of the dangers his son has to face whenever he rides the motorcycle, this was her reply, “But you know what, I’ll just have to live with it,” Karla said flatly.
When Daniel was asked if he is keen on the idea of his mother falling in love again and if he was willing to compromise, it was evident that he had his reservations, “Ano’ng compromise?!” Daniel shared that there was a time when he walked out when he and his mother were talking about her finding love again then he pointed out, “’Pag nagmamahal ka, madamot ka talaga.” However, he told everyone that he thinks that his mother is all set to be with someone, “Si Mama, ready na ‘yan. Hindi ko lang alam kung ready na sila.” On another note, the momshie’s son revealed that he plans to have kids someday, and boasted that he is quite that cook, particularly when it comes to making steak.
Daniel and Ian sang “Pare Ko” by the OPM rock band Eraserheads. Ian also played the piano while Daniel fiddled with his guitar. They both wowed the momshies, and they all started to sing along. Ian shared that as a child he was already musically inclined and took piano lessons, but later on chose to play songs that he knew that he could sing to. “Gusto kong tugtugin ‘yung pwedeng kantahan,” Ian said. Meanwhile, Daniel said that playing the drums was his first love, but he was short of cash to buy the instrument, “Nagsimula akong mag-drums pero wala akong pambili ng drumset,” so he opted to purchase a guitar and exceled at playing it.
