Memories are very relevant fragments of our lives. In a way, it establishes who we are as individuals and molds our worldview in ways we hardly realize. As some people refuse to look back at their past experiences, others choose to fondly recall the good old days because it gives them a sense of nostalgia. And that’s exactly what momshie hosts Jolina Magdangal, Melai Cantiveros and Karla had in store for viewers, as they celebrate 3 wonderful years of being a part of Magandang Buhay, and took a sneak peek at their fun activities a couple of years back.
It can be recalled that the 3 hosts have had so many fun adventures over the years, from heading to exotic places, playing with animals, trying new cuisines, taking on daring and fun-filled activities, meeting new people… you name it --- they’ve done it all! Who can forget their bonding moments with our favorite Kapamilya stars with their touching, and not to mention, inspiring stories. Notwithstanding being around for only less than a decade, we’ve seen the 3 momshies grow together in the show. They have even celebrated holidays together, been around during each other’s birthdays; and on top of that, they have close ties with each other’s families! Needless to say that they are truly blessed to have one another.
Our MB momshies were off to the beautiful shores of Boracay, where they all shared some beautiful memories and experiences. Before jetting off to conduct their island duties, the hosts took time to reflect and gave thanks to the Lord for celebrating 3 years of the show’s success.

Melai began to praised God for all the blessings and said, “Hindi ako makapaniwala na naabot natin ‘tong year 3 years sa Magandang Buhay, in our own show!” She was also happy for the friendships she and her co-hosts have developed throughout the years.
Jolina wished that the show could last longer; and also thanked God and all those who made the show possible. “Hindi naman din natin makakayanang tatlo kung hindi rin tayo tinutulungan ng kabuuan ng Magandang Buhay at inaalagaan,” she shared.
Karla shared that she wants to keep inspiring and making other people happy; and said that she wants to help them, and hopes that they can learn from the show. “And to top it all, marami tayong matutulungan sa pamamagitan ng show na tong Magandang Buhay,” Karla added.
The gang then headed to Bulabog beach and tried the Aquanaut activity, which allows them to discover the hidden treasures of the spectacular marine life. However, they were advised not to include children in the activity, because one’s weight changes under water by 2 kilos, which is below their target weight of 30 – 35 kilos above sea level. According to Lon Guillergan, the General Manager of Stingray Watersports, the compressors are the main reasons why there is a consistent change of one’s weight under water. “It is the compressors. May nagsu-supply ng hangin. So ‘yung compressor na ‘yun ay isa sa mga causes kung bakit nagiging weightless ‘yung helmet,” he explained. Therefore, Jordan had no choice but to stay on the boat.
Before taking part on the task, Melai recalled the last time she went helmet diving, which the Kapamilya star mentioned, apparently led her to the hospital. The momshie admitted that back then she was panicking, when she was required to go as low as 20 feet underwater. Therefore, she learned that it is imperative to always stay calm when doing these activities. “Alam ko na kasi kung pano mag-equalize ngayon so kakayanin ko. 10 feet lang naman, so hindi na ako magpa-panic,” she assured the hosts calmly.
After being prepped, they were brought to the platform to get ready, however it was obvious that they all had their apprehensions. Kaladkaren and Jhai Ho were up first and the nerves started to really kick in, but after a while they started to enjoy the experience. When it was momshies turn to go underwater, it was obvious that Jolina’s anxiety levels started to rise as well. Jhai, Karla and even Melai tried to support her, and tried to convince her that the experience is safe and will turn out well. “Hindi kasi ako ganoon ka-adventurous eh. Ganon ‘yung pagkatao ko,” Jolina underscored. She also stressed that before taking on anything new, she takes time to think if she really wants to carry on with it. After much thought and words of encouragement from her friends, the host finally decided to proceed with the venture.
The momshies were indeed brave troopers, conquered their fears, and followed through with their deep-sea adventure. While exploring, Jolina couldn’t help but feel grateful that Melai was there to support her, and said that you can overcome your own fears if surrounded by the right people. “Sobrang thankful ako kay Momshie Mels, kasi ramdam ko na hawak niya ako eh”. Meanwhile, Melai disclosed that even if she was Jolina’s pillar of strength at that time, she was also trying to conquer her own fears. “Naging strong-strong na lang ako, kahit talagang kinabahan, hirap at takot ako.” It seemed that Karla had the time of her life, as she went through the whole experience without even flinching. “All in all, it’s not that scary,” she stated proudly.
Once Jolina was done with the activity and reached the surface, she couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed with the experience and started to become emotional. “Kasi sabi ko hindi ko talaga ‘to kaya na makakita ang malalim. Pero nung tatlo na tayo, naha-half-hearted ako na gusto kong i-try,” she said teary-eyed, but smiling. Her friends were so proud of what she accomplished and started to comfort her when she started shedding tears of joy. Melai even lauded her co-host, and told everyone that she never planned on leaving Jolina, but is proud of her that she chose to go through with the plan. “Ito kasi si Momshie Jols, talagang kung ano ang sinabi mo kailangan gawin mo talaga sa kanya, hindi ko siya binitawan,” Melai narrated. Karla continued on by sharing with her friends, “Ang na-realize ko dun, very important is, it’s how you learn to face your fears,” she emphasized. Melai even underlined, that through this experience, she believes that their friendship is now stronger.
