Known to be one of the most versatile actresses in the entertainment industry, Cherry Pie Picache dazzled viewers with the colorful and interesting characters that she has portrayed over the years. But apart from being an actress, she is a loving mother to her 17 year old son Nio. Being the successful artist that she is, Cherry Pie said that in everything she pursues, she has to remember that she has a son, and stressed that Nio is still a priority. She underscored that her son is aware that she has to juggle her time with him with everything else that she’s doing, “He knows that mama has to work but mama also has to be with you.” Cherry Pie revealed that until now, she and her tennis player son still hold hands when they are together or when they are out in public, something that they were never really shy about.
The award-winning actress said that raising her son the right way is something that her mother had taught her. Her 75-year-old mom told Cherry Pie that she has to be responsible for her decisions, a lesson that she tries to teach her son as well.
Cherry Pie then turned emotional when she began to talk about her mother, the late Zenaida. It can be recalled that her mother was murdered five years ago. The Kapamiya star has recently come to terms with the assailant and has chosen to forgive him. She spoke about her upcoming documentary film feature “Radical Love” about her mother’s death, which will premiere on ABS-CBN on July 7. “If we come from a place of love and compassion kaya po nating gawin ‘yon,” she said smiling.
Cherry Pie is in such a good place in her life that she even pointed out that she is ready to start dating again. She shared, “I’m praying that God will give a life partner. Ready na po ako talaga.”
