On its June 21 episode, Magandang Buhay welcomed the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 queens. The girls were serenaded by Jason Dy, who performed his own rendition of the song “Filipina Girl.” Jason was surprised by the momshies with a cake because he recently celebrated his birthday. On top of that he also hit another milestone in his life and graduated from college. He expressed his excitement on being able to fulfill his dream of graduating from school, “Sobrang pangarap ko na makatapos ng pag-aaral.”

Karla, Jolina and Melai also took time to get to know the Bb Pilipinas 2019 titleholders a little bit more, and talked to them about their lives before they became beauty queens.
In spite of all the success and fame they have now, the ladies too have had their fair share of struggles. Bb Pilipinas Globe 2019 Leren Bautista was never really accepted by her peers, and revealed that she was bullied as a child but chose to not stoop down to their level because she knew better. “’Yung experience na ‘yun ang nag-mold sa akin to be a better person and to be strong,” she pointed out.
Despite coming from a family of established doctors, Bb Pilipinas 1st Runner-Up 2019 Maria Andrea Abesamis embraced her love for the arts and chose to follow her dream of becoming a beauty queen. She said her parents would tell her to keep pursuing what she really wants, “Sabi nila go. Do what you want to do. Suporta kami sa’yo. Kung ano ang gusto mo, push for it. Kasi kung masaya ka do’n, aasenso ka do’n.”
While pursuing her career in modeling and pageantry, Bb Intercontinental 2019 Emma Tiglao chose to still prioritize her studies in order to her help her family, and pay for her own tuition fee. She was able to balance both quite well, and was able to excel in each area. “Makaka-earn ka ng money. So naka-save ako ng money for my school, also para maka-help sa parents ko,” she elaborated.
For Bb Grand International 2019 Samantha Lo, life was not always easy living in America, when it was going through years of recession. That circumstance pushed her to work hard to make ends meet. “I just had to make it. It was a very difficult time in the U.S for everybody and not just myself. It just made me stronger and I feel invincible now,” she proudly stated.
Bb Pilipinas Supranational 2019 Resham Saeed also shared her experience of having to live in different countries namely Oman, Africa, Pakistan, Dubai and Canada, leaving behind the people that mattered most to her. However, she added that moving around a lot also had its benefits, “The positive side about it is that it made me strong, it made me a people person, and it made me capable to adjust in any situation.”
Beauty and brains Patch Bea Magtanong was able to finish her degree in Law School. When asked by Melai which of the two careers she likes best she replied, “Both po. Hindi ako makakapili between the two and I know my parents are proud with both achievements.” Bb Pilipinas International 2019 Bea was joined by her brother Rome, who described his sister as loving and someone who is maternal, ever since they were all children. He underscored that she is a very independent individual and that they don’t need to watch over her. As an older sister, Rome disclosed that there are times when she gets jealous, to which Bea agreed to. “I’m very protective. Actually, ayoko ‘pag nagkaka-girlfriend sila,” she admitted laughing. When asked about her own love life, Bea said that at the moment it is not a priority, and stressed that she wants to focus on her career first.
Hailed as 2019 Binibining Pilipinas Miss Universe, Gazini Ganados is ready to do her best and make her country proud by competing in this year’s Miss Universe Competition. Gazini spoke about how grateful she is to have such a supportive mother, who at first wasn’t too keen on her daughter entering the world of beauty competitions but in the end eventually had her back. “Oo proud na proud ako sa kanya. Masaya ako para sa kanya,” she emphasized. But despite being blessed with her mother’s loving support, Gazini couldn’t help but turn emotional when she started to talk about her father, who to this day she has yet to meet. She stressed that she is still hopeful of meeting her father one day, and said that she doesn’t carry any grudges against him. “I never had a grudge on why I never had a dad because everything happens for a reason. I hope to meet you someday,” the contestant said crying.
