The consanguinity between father and son can be very complexed. The connection between the two can be quite challenging when they both have different interests. There are times when they compete with each other, or due to their masculine tendencies, it hinders them from communicating with one another. Sometimes parents want a better relationship with their children, however they don’t quite know how to go about it. But that is not the case with Awra Briguela and his father Brian, as they continue to be supportive of one another; and share a deep and loving relationship with each other. The teen star and his popshie visited the Magandang Buhay set, and stunned the hosts Jolina Magdangal, Melai Cantiveros and Karla Estrada with their story.
Popshie Brian shared that he recently graduated from college, and stated that the reason why he wanted to continue on with his studies was to motivate his children to study as well. “Para ma-inspire ‘yung mga anak ko na mag-aral din sila,” he underlined. Due to his father’s perseverance with his studies, Awra pointed out that he too wants to pursue his studies as well; so when the time comes that he will no longer be an actor, he will have a fall back. “Tsaka para pagdating nung time na hindi na akong maging artista, or dumating ako sa core age, alam kong mayroon akong babagsakan na mas maganda,” Awra stressed.
Daddy Brian decided to carry on with his studies not just for self-fulfillment, but to help and make sure that his family will have a bright future. Brian admitted though that juggling his studies with his role as a father can be quite challenging, but said that he sometimes gets help from his mother or asks permission from his professors if he can spend time with his family. On a lighter note, when asked by the MB momshies if he could give them a sample of his own rendition of his son’s facial expressions, Brian was game enough to demonstrate; leaving the 3 hosts pleasantly entertained.
At such a young age, Awra has already achieved so much, starring in the hit television series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and movies like “Familia Blondina” and “Ang Panday.” With his skyrocketing career and all the blessings that continue to pour in, it’s easy to assume that Awra is now frivolously enjoying the fruits of his labor, however that is not the case. The teen star disclosed that he chooses to be thrifty with his earnings, and further divulged on how he saves his money. “’Yung 60%, ‘yung ginawa ni Papa trust fund ko na lang para ‘pag 18 makukuha ko. ‘Yung 40% percent ko hinahati-hati naming magkakapatid at pang gastos namin” he revealed.
Awra couldn’t help but get teary-eyed and emotional when the kids from the series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano came over and delivered sweet messages to him. “Sana ‘wag rin po kayong magbago at thank you rin po,” Paquito said. While Ligaya’s message to him was to continue with his studies and thanked him for his teachings. Lastly, Dang thanked Awra as well for always being there and told him that they will always be there for him if ever he needs them. “Mahal na mahal ka po naming. Tandaan n’yo po nandito lang po kami pa kailangan n’yo po.”
They also expressed how much they missed him, especially and all the fun times that they spent together. In return, Awra had something to say to his 3 friends, “Paquito, message ko sana lumaki kang magalang at mabuting tao. At sa inyo (to the two girls), ang message ko, kung ano ang tinuro ko dalhin n’yo sa pagtanda. At kung anong lahat ng nangyari sa atin, lahat ng memories, sana i-treasure ninyo ‘yun kahit tumanda na kayo,” he underscored. In the end, he also encouraged them to be thorough with their studies.
Education is relevant, as it is something that people can never take away from you. And with the inspiring story of Awra and his father, it goes to show that education can be attained at any stage of your life, as long as you persevere with hard work and determination.
