Having been a popular fashion icon back in her teen years, there’s no denying that Jolina Magdangal knows a thing or two about style. With her iconic full bangs and glittery butterfly clips that were all the rage during the peak of her career, she was deemed as the most charming Pinay of the late 90’s and early 00’s. But as time goes by, fashion trends come and go but one thing is certain: style never fades. Now a mother of two, the singer-actress and host is set to attend the biggest gathering of Kapamilya stars on September 29 as the ABS-CBN Ball 2018 commences!
The Magandang Buhay momshie shares her personal choices for her gown design, saying that above all, what she looks for in a designer is comfort and trust. She states that it’s important for her to feel comfortable with the designer and when her stylist, Rain Dagala, told her about the designer he had chosen for this year’s ball, Jolina felt excited and willingly gave her full trust to her stylist, knowing she’s in good hands. On the talks on her date for the much-awaited event, Jolina expresses that she would have come with her husband, Mark Escueta, if it weren’t for a clash in their schedules. Nonetheless, Jolina is happy to reveal that she’ll be attending with her Magandang Buhay momshies Karla Estrada and Melai Cantiveros.
The singer-actress also expresses her expectations for the upcoming ball, which is an event for a cause set to promote an advocacy for Filipino children with its theme: “Share the Love”. Jolina conveys that it’s great to know that the night won’t just be about vanity and celebrations, but also about helping others. With that being said, she hopes that the night will be successful and eventful.
In styling the actress, Rain conveys that since the jolly host recently gave birth, his biggest challenge and top priority is to create the illusion of slimming her down, which puts much emphasis on shape and silhouette. Rain adds that he made sure to choose a designer—in this case, Jo Rubio—who can deliver their ideas for the dress. Having similar style directions, Jo expresses his happiness on the result of their design; a fruit of his and Rain’s collaboration.
