Jolina Magdangal goes on a semi-throwback trip as she reacts to online comments about her

In case you didn’t know, Jolina Magdangal attended a theatre-arts course at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. This and other interesting facts about the Queen of Pinoy Pop Culture, revealed in this reaction video!

Jolina was asked to react to netizens’ comments about her. One online user enthused, “I was today years old when I learned that Jolina Magdagal studied in UP! Pero one sem lang kasi she was then getting busy with showbiz. Certificate in theatre arts daw ‘yung course niya.”

The Magandang Buhay momshie confirmed, “Yes, nag-UP ako, nag-theatre arts ako pero hindi ko natapos kasi naging busy na.” While she had to give up her studies for a career in showbiz, the short campus life was a thrilling experience. She opted to enrol under a home-school program and was granted a three-year scholarship in Computer Science.

The next comment reads: “When Jolina sang ‘kapag ako ay nagmahal, umiyak man ako hindi ko ito ikakahiya,’ bro, that’s true.” This anthem for all ‘sawi’ and ‘martir’ is one of Jolina’s favorite hits. She said performing this song still makes her senti to this day.

Kapag Ako Ay Nagmahal” is from her self-titled sophomore album and was also part of the soundtrack of the classic romance flick “Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang?” Yup, that iconic film that brought us Bujoy and Ned’s love story, and the immortal lines, “Oh yes, kaibigan mo ‘ko! Kaibigan mo lang ako! And I’m so stupid of making the biggest mistake of falling in love with my best friend!”

We bet you had at least one Jolina song written on a page of your high school notebook which probably had her photo on the cover. Take it from a fellow die-hard Jolina fan, “Casette tapes tapos kanta n’yo po palagi pinapakinggan ko. Meron po akong notebook dati na puro kanta niyo din nakasulat, handwritten. Haaay! Kaka-miss! Love po kita!”

And it turns out even Jolina can relate with this cool pastime of the ‘90s kids, “Ako din, meron din akong notebook na may mga sulat na kanta. Gano’n din ako dati, ‘pag wala akong ginagawa sa school. ‘Yung notebook pa, alam mo ‘yung parang logbook ng mga security guard? Doon ko nilalagay para hard bound.”

In the next entry, a netizen complimented Jolina’s sweet velvety voice, “Pampatulog ko po sa gabi ang mga songs n’yo. Mapapagod ka na daw po kakakanta sabi ng Tita ko.” This tweet is a validation that Jolina is always in her element. Soothing, easy-listening music is pretty much her goal as a recording artist, and thanks to this comment, Jolina proved she’s achieved her purpose.

“Thank you so much! Thank you naman na napapa-relax ka ng aking mga kanta kasi sa totoo lang, ‘yung style ko ng pagkanta, ‘yun talaga ‘yung gusto kong mangyari sa mga nakikinig sa akin, ‘yung mapahimbing nag tulog nila, ‘yung kapag pinakinggan nila mare-relax sila, maduduyan sila,” shared Jolens.

We all love Jolina whether as the trendy teenager in her trademark full bangs and funky braids or the doting momshie she is today. To those tirelessly supporting and even crushing on her, Jolina had this to say: “Thank you so much!”
